As was expected by virtually everyone, former New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has cleared waivers and is officially a free agent for the first time in his career. He can now sign with any NFL team, if he can find an interested party. Tebow was waived by the Jets on Monday after suffering through a terrible season in New York. Truthfully, we all suffered through his lone season with Gang Green. Had the former first-round pick been claimed off waivers, the claiming team would have had to pay the rest of his contract, which would have totaled about $1.9 million over the next two seasons. The Jets acquired Tebow from the Denver Broncos in March of 2012, as a part of the trade agreement, New York still has to pay the Broncos $1.53 million. Two indoor league football teams have already offered Tebow a job, and there has been speculation as to whether or not any Canadian Football League teams would show interest as well.
