PLAYERS: Tim Tebow
TEAMS: New York Jets

Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News believes that free agent quarterback Tim Tebow will certainly have the option of working in television once his pro football career is over, which could be pretty soon. No doubt the former Heisman Trophy winner, released by the Jets last week, would like to appear in front of a camera playing quarterback in the National Football League. That now is a longshot. The odds of him landing a TV gig as a college football analyst are much better – excellent – if Tebow wants to take the plunge. The way the current cable landscape is setting up makes Tebow the most attractive of candidates. In August, the Foxies will begin an assault on ESPN, launching Fox Sports One, their all-sports cable network. There is no bigger name on the current Fox Sports roster, no bigger new name it could bring to FS1, than Tim Tebow. Fox’s college football studio show now consists of Erin Andrews, Eddie George and Joey Harrington. Throw Tebow into the mix and the buzz becomes huge, the sizzle electric. Tebow’s loyal flock of eyeballs would follow him, significantly increasing the ratings of a show rarely discussed. The ESPN faculty is aware Tebow could be in play. Word is they believe he will be playing football somewhere this season. If that’s not the case they ain’t letting Tebow waltz to Fox, or any other outlets (like NBC Sports Network or CBS Sports Network), without pursuing him, big-time. It doesn’t take a genius — or me — to figure this out. ESPN hitched its wagon to Tebow’s star a long time ago. The ride lasted right through his failed tenure with Gang Green. If ESPN suits had a chance to make him part of their team they would be all in, right? It’s not like ESPN doesn’t have a few hours of college football programming to fill, including “College GameDay.” Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard wouldn’t mind having Tebow join them if it means drastically increasing their audience. Or if ESPN wanted to change the demographic look of “College Football Scoreboard,” they could move Tebow in with Lou Holtz and Mark May. Tebow almost has the perfect personality for television.  As much as people claim they’re sick of hearing about him, he has great energy and passion for life and the game of football. While no one knows what Tebow plans on doing once his pro career is over, he would be wise to get back into college football and get on TV.   Need NFL Tickets?
