DENVER - AUGUST 29: Quarterback Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos warms up prior to facing the Pittsburgh Steelers during preseason NFL action at INVESCO Field at Mile High on August 29, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. (Photo by Doug Pensinger/Getty Images)

Love him or hate him, you have to have an opinion about Tim Tebow.

I love him. I know, I know…I can hear you groan out loud.

I don’t want to hear about how he can never be a quarterback in this league or how he throws balls in the dirt to wide open receivers in the flats.

I don’t know If Tebow can make it as a quarterback in the NFL, but I cannot and will not give up on him.

DJ Khaled says it best… “All I do is win, win, win.” Tebow doesn’t do it conventionally, and it can be downright ugly sometimes, but he gets the job done.

Who thought the Broncos would actually be in the hunt in the AFC West? I sure didn’t.

Face it, when Denver is playing you are watching. Even if it is atrocious, you keep watching because he is exciting. You can talk about QB rating and completion percentage and that is valid, but the NFL is a bottom-line league. All that matters are wins and losses. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl and he will be the first to admit he wasn’t an elite quarterback.

Here’s the thing; I admire Tebow for his positive attitude and how genuine he is. I don’t even care if he pans out as a quarterback, I just want him to find a niche in the league.

I am not a father yet, but if I was I would tell my son to watch Tebow. I wouldn’t use his mechanics or delivery to teach my son how to throw a football, but I would use him as an example of sportsmanship and hard work. Tebow has the best attitude, even with all of the haters bashing him at every turn. He smiles and laughs when people insult him and even belittle his religion or think when he kneels down to pray that it is some sort of act.

The funniest thing I heard this week was in his press conference when he said he would tweet Hugh Douglas and make sure he was in church like he promised he would be if Tebow beat the Jets. “He better be in his Sunday best,” Tebow said. “Maybe he’ll even do praise and worship.”

You can have your opinion about Tebow as a player, but to say you hate him as a person is ludicrous. If you hate Tebow, it’s like hating puppies and ice cream. It just doesn’t make sense.

So go ahead and drink your Haterade, I am going to openly root for a good person to have success.
