Tim Tebow has officially joined the New York Jets after the trade talks were revived.

Mark Sanchez is a capable QB but has not been given the requisite weapons or aerial playcaller to really show off his talent.

Stuck with troublesome or aging wideouts for most of his career, his only consistent option has been Dustin Keller.

An overrated run game only helped to complicate matters in 2011.

Fast forward to 2012 and the Jets have traded for Tim Tebow after losing out on Peyton Manning and giving Sanchez an ‘apology extension’.

Tebow is being brought into play as a wildcat QB and also to compete for the starting job.

Fantasy Impact:

Mark Sanchez: Sanchez loses what little QB1 upside he possessed now that Tebow is in town and is now a mid-level QB2. Sanchez is the better QB but Tebow may be more suited for the ground and pound offense.

Tim Tebow: Tebow loses most if not all of his fantasy value as long as he is not starting, that is of course unless your fantasy provider gives him running back eligibility (not likely). Those in deeper leagues may want to stash Tebow as there is a good chance he ends up starting games before the season is over.

Peyton Manning: Manning and John Elway no longer have to deal with the Tebow-maniacs. And good riddance.

Jets Running Backs: Tebow will steal plenty of carries from the Jets running backs and this should be taken into consideration when drafting this season. At best a Jets RB will be a RB2 with a flex floor.
