As Pittsburgh Steelers fans wait to see what transpires to the Steelers roster during the offseason, and who gets picked in the draft, there will be much speculation to what might occur. The Steelers find themselves in a salary cap dilemma not easily fixable. Mainly, five Steelers hold the lion’s share of the cap money. They are Ben Roethlisberger, James Harrison, Lawrence Timmons, Lamar Woodley, and Troy Polamalu. The possibility exists James Harrison may get waived... Read more

  • There is no way the Steelers should cut ties with Troy. Troy is to young and he is a difference maker. God for bid he missed the majority of the season last year. I guess there are not other football players missing time for injuries. The Steelers had bad luck! Troy will be a force next year. I just get sick of stupid comments that I hear from the media. If you want someone gone from the team...how about Woodley! He stinks!

Teammate Says LaMarr Woodley Was Out Of Shape & Awful Last Season

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley has been criticized heavily for his play the last few seasons and several think that he is spending too much time in the media spotlight than under the lights of a weight training room. Evidently a teammate of Woodley's thinks along those same lines, according to the latest piece by Ron Cook in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. ...

Clark Leads Hypocrisy Parade in the Steelers’ Locker Room

Maybe all the hits Ryan Clark has taken to the head have finally come full-circle. I find it amazing how he continues to defend some teammates yet is nowhere to be found when it comes to defending others. It’s becoming a never-ending trend for Clark and frankly it’s becoming nauseating. The Pittsburgh Steelers are starting to remind me more and more of a sad reality show and...

Could Vikings LB Erin Henderson Be A Cheap Free Agent Prospect For The Steelers?

Let me start of this post by saying that I will be very surprised if the Pittsburgh Steelers add a big name via free agency this offseason. It just isn't something that they normally do and being up against the salary cap this offseason won't help change that this offseason. Even experienced smaller name free agent additions would be quite surprising. With that disclaimer...

Steelers Mike Adams Fine With Playing On Left Or Right Side In 2013

It was an up and down season for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie tackle Mike Adams, who had his year come crashing to a halt after injuring his ankle in the Week 12 game against the Cleveland Browns, but the Ohio State product is already looking forward to the 2013. Adams saw all of his playing time at right tackle in 2012 thanks to Marcus Gilbert being injured early on in the season...

2012 Grade, Position by Position, Defensive Line

So, now we’ve come to the side of the ball where the Steelers’ bread is buttered. For years, the Steelers’ defense has instilled fear and respect in opponents. From the days of the Steel Curtain, through the years of Blitz-burgh and the Zone Blitz, to this latest incantation, defense has been the hallmark of Pittsburgh Steelers football. The most natural place to start this...

Steelers still haven’t confronted James Harrison about his contract

With the Pittsburgh Steelers way over the 2013 salary cap, there have been some rumors that they will likely release linebacker James Harrison.   Harrison’s agent Bill Parise told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the Steelers haven’t confronted him about Harrison’s contract yet. With the Steelers about $14 million over the projected $121 million salary cap, there has been...

Pittsburgh Steelers Pre-Combine 2013 NFL Mock Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff absence has given fans and pundits more time to dissect the 2013 NFL Draft, and what the Steelers should do with the No. 17 pick in the first round. The month and a half of draft buildup culminates in this 2013 Steelers mock draft. Then on Feb. 23, the draft season really begins with the NFL Scouting Combine. FIRST ROUND Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia...

Teammate's jab at Woodley highlights deeper problem for the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were in the rare position of sitting at home for the playoffs at the conclusion of the 2012 season, and the team has been questioned since they failed to make the postseason. The pressure on players and coaches in Pittsburgh is unlike most teams in the league. Making the playoffs is the expectation in Pittsburgh, not a happy surprise that comes around once...

Ryan Clark’s Comments Bring Up Another Major Issue with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Yesterday Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote an article about LaMarr Woodley. In the article an unnamed Steelers player was quoted as saying the following: “He was awful,” the teammate said of Woodley to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “He tells us he works out, but we didn’t see it. He wasn’t in shape. That has to be a reason why he was always hurt.” There was...

It’s Still Time for Roethlisberger, Timmons, and Woodley to Lead the Steelers

After Ryan Clark’s comments on NFL AM this morning there are some big questions surrounding the Steelers camaraderie as well as the level of leadership on the team. This isn’t a new issue, however, before the 2012 season that was one of the issues that concerned me most. In fact, I wrote this article almost a year ago: Time for Roethlisberger, Timmons, and Woodley to Lead ...

Richard Sherman Thinks Keenan Lewis Is One Of The Best Cornerbacks In The League

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was a guest Friday on NFL Total Access and was asked who he thinks are the best cornerbacks in the league besides himself. His answer included a somewhat surprising name from the Pittsburgh Steelers. "Well if Darrelle Revis is playing then I would say it's him, but this year he didn't get a chance to play," started...

Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Offseason Preview

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2012 season came to a rather fitting end (for all intents and purposes) in Week 16, at home against their division rival, the Cincinnati Bengals. With both teams desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and locked up in a 10-10 slugfest with just 44 seconds left in regulation, Pittsburgh took over on their own 11. Up until that point, the teams...
