NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Titans already have shuffled their offensive line this offseason by bringing in five-time All-Pro Steve Hutchinson.
More changes could be coming.
Center Eugene Amano and Leroy Harris, both coming off a pair of surgeries, are back on the field trying to reclaim their starting jobs. At the same time, the Titans are trying to strengthen a unit that uncharacteristically struggled in run blocking last season despite being one of the NFL's best at pass protection.
Amano is trying to hold off Kevin Matthews, an undrafted lineman whose father Bruce is Tennessee's offensive line coach, while Fernando Velasco got to work at right guard as Harris recovered.
Coach Mike Munchak says the result has been good competition, though they hope to lock down their starters quickly in training camp.

Look around the Tennessee roster, and the Titans' youth movement is most noticeable at linebacker.
Sure, Will Witherspoon is a 10-year NFL veteran heading into his third season with Tennessee. But he's the rare veteran in a meeting room where Akeem Ayers and Colin McCarthy are back as starters after strong rookie seasons. The Titans also used their second-round draft pick...
Good news for the rest of the AFC South; according to the local newspaper in Tennessee, Matt Hasselbeck is expected to QB1 when the Titans break camp this fall.
Before I get into the specifics, the reason I say it is good news for the rest of the AFC South is because I believe they have enough talent on the roster to challenge Houston for the division in 2012. But I also believe...
With Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker battling for the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback job, all preseason reports have indicated that the competition has been very close so far. At least until now.
David Climer of the Tennessean suspects that Hasselbeck has a nice lead over Locker at this point for the starting job.
“I suspect Hasselbeck is solidly ahead of...

As first reported by the Tennessee Titans, the Titans today signed safety Michael Griffin to a five-year contract extension.Griffin was scheduled to hit free agency when the new league year began, but the Titans elected to use the franchise tag on him. Unlike many players who get hit with the tag, he's been a model citizen since then and signed a waiver so that he could participate...
Safety Michael Griffin and the Titans reached a five-year contract extension that removes the franchise designation from the two-time Pro Bowl defensive back. Pro Football Talk reported the deal is worth just under $7 million per season. Griffin was scheduled to earn $6.22 million in 2012 as the team's franchise player. The two sides reached a long-term deal that rewards...
Michael Griffin was the 19th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, but he didn’t always play like it. For example, in 2008 and 2011, he graded out above average on ProFootballFocus, ranking 13th among all safeties last year. However, in 2009 he was absolutely awful, getting torched in coverage, allowing 34 completions on 49 attempts (69.4%) for 741 yards (15.1 YPA!!!), 5 touchdowns...
