When you're one of the most accurate placer kickers in NFL history, people tend to notice when you miss. Rob Bironas missed not once, but twice in his preseason debut for Tennessee. Neither Bironas nor Titans coach Mike Munchak are concerned. Bironas said Tuesday he knew instantly what went wrong when he missed wide left from 38 yards, and wide right from 37 in last week's loss to Cincinnati. He's working back from a two-week layoff because of back soreness and says he is glad he has two more weeks left this preseason to hone his timing. ''It's one of those things at this time I'm not worried about it,'' Bironas said. ''I know in the game my get-off times were a tenth of second difference when usually they're a thousandth of a second difference. One of them I was on top of the ball and there way too early, and one of them I slowed everything down trying to make up for it and just leg-whipped it. Paying attention, my focus wasn't...

2013 NFL Preview: Best of the AFC South

Before we dive into the All-Star team for the AFC South, I would like to explain a specific attribute of this article.  I recently read a Sports Illustrated piece on college football and noticed they gave ratings to each team’s offense, defense and special teams.  So, I thought it would be fun to give each player a Madden-type rating for the position they are designated to, just to...

Titans' Williams breaks his self-imposed media silence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- For the first time since the start of Tennessee Titans training camp in late July, Gregg Williams was made available to the media just prior to the start of Wednesday's practice. According to Williams, that choice of media access, or the lack thereof, has been his and his alone, despite multiple requests from various media outlets the past few weeks for collective...

Titans' Kendall Wright, Akeem Ayers may miss remainder of preseason

Kendall Wright and Akeem Ayers were both carted off the field in the Tennessee Titans' preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Either player missing a significant amount of time could impact the team this season; however, the injuries weren't as serious as they first seemed, team writer, Craig Peters, reported on Sunday. Wright was having a great game with...

One of the Tennessee Titans top free agent acquisitions this offseason has spent the entire training camp on the team's PUP list because of arthroscopic surgery on his left knee he underwent just before camp. Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker has blamed himself for the death of his aunt and uncle. He isn't at fault. They died from a preventable mistake made by someone else. Walker, though, has put himself in the shoes of Nechole Thomas. She is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated after plowing into the stopped car of Alice and Bryan...
