James Carr @jamescarr89 NASHVILLE, TN -- Kenny Britt has been arrested eight times since joining the NFL in 2009. He was arrested twice during the lockout but managed to escape punishment as commissioner Roger Goodell felt he couldn't exercise his power when the league was out of action. Britt wasn't as lucky this time around. The NFL has suspended Britt for one game following his latest arrest, according to the Tennessean. Britt will be on the sideline as the Tennessee Titans take on the New England Patriots. Britt was arrested for DUI on Fort Campbell Army post on the Tennessee-Kentucky border after attempting to pass through a security detail while intoxicated on July 20th. Britt met with Goodell on August 6th to discuss the arrest. Once the Tennessee Titans removed Britt from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday, Goodell acted swiftly in handing out punishment. Britt has been an intricate part of the Titans' offense, when on the field, adding 101 catches, 1,765 yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons, despite enduring three knee surgeries. He was recovering from ACL surgery this offseason. In his absence, Nate Washington and Damian Williams have been able to keep the Titans afloat. The Titans also drafted Kendall Wright from Baylor in the 2012 NFL draft, perhaps to cover for the oft-missing Britt. Reports state that Britt will appeal the decision.
