Titans C Eugene Amano Plans To Remain The Starter

The Titans flirted with five free agent centers, something Eugene Amano couldn’t help but notice. Yet the starter in the middle the past two seasons said he wasn’t offended. He does, however, intend to prove the Titans are better off sticking with him in 2012. “I understand it is a business, and whatever they can do to make the team better, I understand,” Amano said. “I am not going to take it personal; you can’t. At the end of the day all I can do is control what I can control and that is getting better and proving that I am the guy still.’” Right now, however, Amano isn’t able to fight for his job. He’s still recovering from knee and ankle surgeries earlier this offseason. “There’s always competition,” Amano said. “But I know for a fact that I think I am going to be the guy for this fall.”
