Titans CB L'Jarius Sneed sets record straight on his health

There was certainly a trade market for former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed this past offseason, even after the Chiefs placed a franchise tag on him that was worth a $19.8 million salary in 2024.

It was seemingly always going to be a sign and trade, but there was some trepidation on the trade market regarding a knee injury Sneed played through last season. In fact, the knee issue led to one deal falling through, according to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star.

All is well that ends well for Sneed, though. The Titans traded a 2025 third-round pick and a 2024 seventh-round pick to Kansas City for him and then almost immediately gave the cornerback a four-year $76.4 million contract that included $55 million in guaranteed money.

Speaking at his introductory news conference, Sneed pushed back on the notion that his knee is still an issue.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knee,” Sneed said, per NBC Sports. “I’m fine. I played the whole season. Years before that I played as well. I had a couple problems before, but I’m good right now. Nothing is really wrong with the knee. . . . I know what to do with my knee. I’m coming out here to play ball.”

"Playing ball" is something that Sneed can indeed do, which is why the Titans ponied up for his services. He's snagged 10 interceptions over the last four seasons for the Chiefs.
