Titans fourth-round draft pick Cedric Gray reveals hilarious secret about fellow rookie T'Vondre Sweat
USA TODAY Sports

Rookie minicamp came to a close on Sunday for the Tennessee Titans.

Not only was did three-day period provide an opportunity for the rookie class to get acquainted with the coaching staff, but it also served as the first real chance they had to speak to the media in an in-person setting.

Titans fans scratched that rookie itch with short clips of JC Latham moving Bill Callahan's trademarked sleds Bertha and Olga. Also, T'Vondre Sweat looked the part of an Outland Trophy winner in his individual drill work as well.

Tennessee's fourth-round draft pick Cedric Gray had one of the quotes of the weekend as the media was able to speak to a handful of players and coaches following Friday's brief practice session.

The linebacker out of North Carolina first shared that he already had formed relationships with Titans draft picks DL Jaylen Harrell and LB James Williams.

"I got really close with Jaylen Harrell at the Senior Bowl," Gray revealed. "Me and James Williams actually trained together in Florida for pre-draft training."

As the future leader of the Titans' defense, Gray is going to have to get comfortable communicating with every player on his side of the ball. That starts with his fellow rookies.

That includes the Titans' second-round selection in defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat. Gray, for better or worse, was paired with Sweat as his rookie minicamp roommate.

"That bond is starting already," Gray said of his relationship with the 2024 rookie class. "My roommate at the hotel is (T'Vondre) Sweat, so we've been able to talk and different things like that."

With that being said, anyone who has lived with a roommate knows it's not always perfect. While Sweat is a thrill to be around when he's awake, it's a different story when he shuts his eyes for a night's rest.

Gray was asked about Sweat's sleeping habits in their hotel room. When asked if Sweat was a snorer, Gray didn't hesitate to answer with a "yes."

"It's pretty loud, but it isn't too bad. You gotta go to sleep first, that's they key."

Gray will likely be assigned the green-dot as the defense's primary communicator when the regular season eventually arrives. So this likely won't be the last time he talks to Sweat about making an adjustment.
