Jake Locker will begin "football activities" htis week according to Coach Mike Munchak. Locker who sprained his hip against the New York Jets has missed the past two games and probably won't be under center when the Tennessee Titans host the San Francisco 49ers. But after ruling him out quickly the previous two Mondays Munchak said there was some chance that Locker could return this week. He's gonna be able to do more this week. He's doing well. Just like him and Shonn Greene starting today they'll be a lot more active” Munchak said via TitanInsider. “Now it's just a matter of seeing how they handle more activity. I think the rest part and the light stuff is over and now he can get more into real football stuff and now it's just a matter of how quickly he progresses without pain the same with Shonn Greene. We'll see how Shonn is this week running and how he handles and how his knee responds to more football-like activity. The next couple of da...

Titans Lose in Odd Game

Titans (@TitansAmie) Yesterday afternoon, as the Tennessee Titans stormed onto the field in Seattle, the sun shined on CenturyLink field. That was but the first oddity in the 20-13 loss yesterday. After the first touchdown by Marshawn Lynch, kicker Steven Hauschka was absolutely leveled on the kick return by Darius Raynaud. He was shown on the sidelines with a bloody nose, and was...

Titans still 'fixing' problems along offensive line

NASHVILLE, Tenn. One of the fixes that had to happen this season for the Titans to be successful was to rebuild its offensive line. The grouping was beset by combination of injuries and poor play to have a large part in last seasons 6-10 debacle. That had to particularly stick in the craw of Titans head coach Mike Munchak and offensive line coach Bruce Matthews, a pair of Pro Football...

Tennessee Titans can’t put away Seahawks, drop to 3-3

With Ryan Fitzpatrick running the offense, the Tennessee Titans have not looked the same.  The presence of a young quarterback in Jake Locker seemed to be what was sparking this offense.  Since Locker injured his hip in Week 4 against the New York Jets, the Titans have dropped two in a row and have fallen to 3-3 on the year. Though only a seven-point loss to a potential Super Bowl...

UFR: Kenny Britt's 2013 targets

Since I'm really not in the mood to do the writing about Chris Johnson that an examination of the run game would entail, I decided instead to turn my attention to one of the other headaches for the Titans on offense. Yes, it's a Kenny Britt post.   I decided to go ahead and watch all of Britt's targets this year. My goal in doing so would multi-fold: (a)...

Schwenke taking over at center for Titans

The Titans are making a big change in the middle of their offensive line – rookie Brian Schwenke is taking over at center. Schwenke the team’s fourth-round draft pick will start on Sunday against the 49ers. He replaces veteran Rob Turner who started the first six games of the season. “I think he’ll do a great job’’ coach Mike Munchak said of Schwenke. “We drafted...

Do the Tennessee Titans Have Something Special?

The Tennessee Titans are going through a rough patch right now. After starting the season with a 3-1 record before the injury of starting quarterback Jake Locker, the team with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center has dropped to 3-3 after losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Seattle Seahawks. With at least one more game to go without Jake, the value of some young players has finally...

Tennessee Titans: Can Tennessee Get Done Against The Niners?

When it comes underdogs, the NFL is full of them. Take a look at the Kansas City Chiefs who are surging at 6-0. Give the New England Patriots credit for being 5-1 after being decimated by injuries. And don’t count out the Tennessee Titans, despite their 3-3 record. While it may seem like the Titans’ hopes have been dashed as of late due to the injury to quarterback Jake Locker...

Manningham Not Expecting to Play vs. Titans

The sixth-year veteran wide receiver joined his teammates for a Tuesday walk-through but doesn’t expect to be a full practice participant this week. Manningham who suffered torn knee ligaments in Week 16 of the 2012 season doesn’t plan on rushing back into a game. The 49ers visit the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. “Just taking it day-by-day seeing how it goes” Manningham...

Seattle Seahawks Claw To 5-1, Beat Tennessee Titans 20-13

Titans are elder gods in Greek mythology. There massive and powerful, and seemingly completely unrelated to anything in Tennessee. That was what I thought until witnessing this game on Sunday. Seahawks fans got to see what their team looked like playing with a Titan on their backs. Everything was harder. There was no sense of flow or free movement. Each step was arduous and unsure...

Don't Give Up on the Titans Yet

Don’t write the Titans off just yet. Nobody is going to get excited about being 3-3, but let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture. The Titans just went into the most hostile environment in the NFL and only lost by a touchdown with Ryan Fitzpatrick running the offense. Think about that for a second. It’s hard not to imagine what the Titans record could be right...

Tennessee Titans: 2013 Week 7 NFL Power Rankings (#14)

Last week: 15 (+1) Record: 3-3 The Titans hung tough in Seattle and were just the 2nd team to cover the spread there over the past 2 seasons. Ryan Fitzpatrick is obviously a limiting factor for this team and, to be fair, Jake Locker probably would have been as well once his interception rate increased from 0.0%. However, they have plenty of defensive talent and can frustrate opponents...

Seattle Seahawks Three Key Match-Ups vs. Tennessee Titans

The Injury Bowl Having finished their two game road trip, the Seattle Seahawks will play at Century Link on Sunday to wrap up their fourth straight game against an opponent from the AFC South. Both the Seahawks and Titans are coming off of a loss, and enter Sunday with the hope of getting back into the win column. Jake Locker’s return to Washington will have to wait. The depth...
