The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms keeping kicker Rob Bironas off the free agent market and with the team he has spent the past eight seasons. The Titans announced the deal Thursday. NFL.com and The Tennessean both report the deal is for two years. Bironas, 35, ranks as the third most accurate kicker in NFL history, connecting on 85.6 percent of his attempts. He trails only Al Del Greco as the franchise's leading scorer with 916 points. He has 11 game-winning field goals. He also has the NFL records for most field goals made in a game with eight and most consecutive games with a field goal 40 yards or longer at 10. Bironas scored 110 points and was 25 of 31 on field goals last season.

Tennessee Titans re-sign Rob Bironas, Keyunta Dawson

Naturally, since in yesterday's post I noted the Titans hadn't been very active in re-signing their own players, they went ahead and reupped two, re-signing kicker Rob Bironas and defensive end Keyunta Dawson. Bironas's deal is reportedly for $6.7 million over two years, while Dawson's is apparently another one-year deal for the league minimum. As I noted in my...

Tennessee Titans ready to add talent around Chris Johnson

The Titans are a team in search of an identity beyond Chris Johnson and the 2013 free agency cycle should help provide clues to that identity. The toughest decision for the Titans in 2013 is to decide whether they will be defined by Chris Johnson or by the play of their young quarterback in Jake Locker. History has shown that quarterbacks have to be the focus in the NFL, but Chris...

In Depth 2013: Tennessee Titans

A 9-7 record in2011 under first-year coach Mike Munchak and the presumed development of second-year quarterback Jake Locker had fans and observers intrigued by the Tennessee Titans chances of a playoff run in 2012. Injuries to Locker and several other key players quickly scuttled those hopes, however. And despite scoring 50 more points in 2012 than 2011, Tennessee’s defense collapsed...

Titans to get feet wet in free agency market

NASHVILLE, Tenn. In making the biggest move of the off-season thus far, the Tennessee Titans did nothing.
