The Tennessee Titans have quietly pieced together one of the best offseasons in the NFL. But after back-to-back seasons of ineptitude, the national media hasn't been showing the Titans much attention.
The Titans play in a smaller market and have been one of the most unwatchable teams over the last two seasons. So, even with a remarkable free agency period, it's understandable as to why Tennessee isn't mentioned when listing potential contenders in 2024.
With that being said, Wednesday brought a refreshing change in the Titans discourse.
NFL Network's Peter Schrager joined the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and was asked about his favorite under-the-radar teams in the upcoming season. He listed just two teams in his answer: the Seattle Seahawks and the Titans.
"Tennessee with Brian Callahan, what are they gonna look like? Now they've got an offensive coach with the quarterback (Will) Levis. So Seattle and Tennessee are my sneaky teams that literally no one is talking about who did a really good job this offseason," Schraeger said.
McAfee followed up by adding how impressive Titans rookie offensive tackle JC Latham looked alongside offensive line coach Bill Callahan in rookie minicamp. However there was one addition that caught Schrager's attention more than the others.
"They stole Calvin Ridley," Schrager noted. "The Jaguars thought Calvin Ridley was coming back and the Titans stole him in free agency. That's a guy that has 100 catches, you put him with DeAndre Hopkins, you add in Latham, you add in Pollard. They got quietly better."

It's pretty cool to see a member of the national media shine a light on what has been a tremendous offseason by general manager Ran Carthon and Co. While he admitted that the Titans wouldn't lead off his show Good Morning Football, he believes in what the Titans are building in the team's first season under Brian Callahan.
