TEAMS: Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings
Running back Javon Ringer was placed on season-ending injured reserve by the Tennessee Titans with a torn ACL. Chris Johnson's primary backup, Ringer dealt with an infection in his arm earlier this season before suffering the knee injury during a loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He finishes the 2012 season with just two carries for 14 yards. Ringer has 486 career rushing yards. Jamie Harper will continue as Johnson's backup. Harper has 10 carries for 12 yards (1.2-yard average) this season. Safety Tracy Wilson was promoted from the Titans' practice squad.

Matt Hasselbeck is hurting the Titans future
Matt Hasselbeck has come to life for the Tennessee Titans. His success should be expected as he has led teams to the playoffs on multiple occasions. He is also a veteran who knows what to expect of defenses and what plays to make off of those reads. As a fan the concern is not for taking him out and replacing him with Locker while the team is winning, it’s a concern for hampering...
Chris Johnson is a different kind of running back
The Indianapolis Colts' run defense has been more of a picket fence than a stone wall thus far this season. Through six games, the Colts are giving up over 140 yards per game on the ground, seventh worst in the NFL. Their 4.8 yards per carry allowed is fifth worst.
It's not like the Colts have been facing the NFL's dregs, however. Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones...
Titans Place RB Javon Ringer On IR
The Titans signed S Tracy Wilson from their practice squad on Friday and placed RB Javon Ringer on injured reserve.
Ringer only played in two games this season and had two carries for 14 yards and three catches for 12 yards. He injured his left knee against the Vikings in Week Five.
Wilson joined Tennessees practice squad after final cuts. He spent six weeks on the Jets...
Titans starting to get on the right path, sit at 3-4 overall
It's taken seven weeks and four blowouts losses to get to this point in the season, but the Tennessee Titans have quickly been sealing up the holes in their leaking ship. After another last minute victory, this time over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday by a core of 35-34, the Titans have improved to 3-4 on the year.
Even better news for them is that they have a match-up against...

Titans Savior Matt Hasselback
“The Freak,” “Air McNair,” and good old Eddie George. The days have passed since the Music City Miracle. Far from it, actually. The Tennessee Titans have had some troubles since their noted run to the Super Bowl. A few 10-win seasons here and there, but the Titans haven’t broken the double digit mark since 2008. Chris Johnson, the Titans’ star running back out of East...
Titans OT Michael Roos Might Have Consecutive Games Played Streak End
Michael Roos has started every single game for the Titans since being drafted in the second round back in 2005, a streak now in peril of ending at 119 straight.
Hey, even NFL players have to heal after emergency appendectomies.
The left tackle played through discomfort in last week's 35-34 win at Buffalo. He returned home and couldn't sleep before finally heading to the...
Questions and Answers with Tom Gower
Tom Gower of the Football Outsiders and Total Titans is one of the most insightful and funny writers on the internet. I can honestly say that I would read his work on the Titans even if I didn't have to. If you care at all about football or just good writing, read everything Tom does just on principle.
His insightful and measured tweets will both entertain and inform you. He...
Titans QB Jake Locker's Return Could Be Tied To Matt Hasselbeck's Success
Titans head coach Mike Munchak has shown a steadfast commitment to rookie Jake Locker, who Munchak continues to say will return to the starting lineup once his injured left shoulder is healed despite backup Matt Hasselbeck engineering consecutive fourth-quarter wins for the club. However, Pro Football Weekly hears the club could be extra cautious with Lockers shoulder, perhaps...
Titans Rule OT Michael Roos Out, LB Colin McCarthy Questionable Vs Colts
Titans left tackle Michael Roos has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts after having his appendix removed earlier this week.
Roos had started all 119 games since the Titans drafted him in the second round -- 41st overall -- of the 2005 draft, but the 30-year-old veteran was unable to practice all week as he recovered from surgery.
Quarterback...
Matchup Spotlight: Dwight Freeney vs. Mike Otto
The Colts take a trip down to Nashville this week, looking to earn their first road win of the season. The Titans are favored by 3 1/2 points, according to SportsBetting.ag, and generally the home team gets spotted three points in any contest. So, despite having a superior record (by half a game) and more than twice as good of a point differential, Vegas still says the Colts are...
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans: Week 8 NFL Pick
Indianapolis Colts (3-3) at Tennessee Titans (3-4) The winner of this game between the Colts and Titans will either be over .500 or at .500 and well in contention for a playoff spot in the AFC. I told you the AFC sucks. The Titans, however, will be hurt in this quest to do so this [...]
