The Tennessee Titans made a roster move on Saturday in order to have a fullback on their roster for the Sunday season opener at Heinz Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fullback Quinn Johnson was placed on injured reserve and fullback Collin Mooney was promoted from the practice squad to take his place on the roster.
Johnson worked on Wednesday, but his quadriceps injury prevented him from practicing Thursday and Friday.
The Titans did bring free agent fullbacks Michael Robinson and John Conner in for tryouts on Friday, but ultimately decided to promote Mooney instead.

The Tennessee Titans open up their season against the Pittsburg Steelers on Sunday with a few key players listed as game-time decisions. Titans running back Chris Johnson gutted out 70 yards on 25 carries (long run of 11 yards) Sunday against the Steelers, but he lost a goal-line touchdown to Jackie Battle.Fantasy Spin:Losing goal-line work to Shonn Greene (left Sunday's game with an injury) or Battle could hurt Johnson's fantasy value in a big way, especially because the Titans play some tough run defenses...
Bud Adams opened his wallet. Now he wants the Titans in the playoffs.
“I didn’t spend that money for nothing” he said with a chuckle on Thursday.
The 90-year-old founder and owner of the franchise didn’t make any “playoffs or pink slips” ultimatums as he did before the 1999 season which ended with the Titans in the Super Bowl.
But eight months after electing to keep...
Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker will finally get his first crack at facing the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field and while he has developed slow, the Titans are playing to his strengths as heads into his third season. After studying him a bit this past week, the Steelers can't take him lightly as I feel he might be underrated and certainly enters the 2013 season...

Pittsburgh – LB Jarvis Jones and FB...
The Titans used a strong defensive performance that shut out the Steelers offense for over 58 minutes and an offense that did just enough to take advantage of good field position for a 16-9 upset win in Pittsburgh over the Steelers.
The game started ridiculously poorly, as Darius Reynaud fielded the opening kickoff at the 1 and then stepped into the end zone for what he thought...
