The Titans have waived/injured defensive end Jacob Ford, who was suffering from a hamstring injury. Ford spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Titans, collecting 15.5 sacks. He had just three last season, his lowest output since his rookie year. The 6-4, 252-pound Ford may also have been a victim of the bigger-is-better philosophy of the new coaching regime. His release comes at a time when the Titans are hurting at defensive end, as Derrick Morgan (knee) is expected to miss the season opener and Jason Jones is recovering from a knee injury. Jones is expected to play in the season opener.
