Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports the Titans and safety Jordan Babineauxs agent have had fairly meaningful discussions and dialogue about a long-term deal, according to agent J.R. Rickert. Because the Titans took advantage of a league rule that lowered Babineauxs cap number in 2011, however, the team cant sign him before the March 13 start of free agency like theyve done with other players scheduled to become free agents. If the Titans are able to offer him a package that is fair and reflects his market value, then Jordan would welcome the opportunity to return there, Rickert said. I think he would like to stay in Tennessee first. Now if someone out there comes forward after (March 13) with a substantial offer I know hell consider that, too.

2012 Tennessee Titans franchise tag analysis
Today is the first day NFL teams can apply the franchise tender to their upcoming free agents, but the cost of paying them the greater of 120% of their previous year's cap figure or the top five average salaries at their position (the current CBA added some complications in how this latter figure is calculated that aren't worth going into for this post).Looking at the Titans...
2012 Tennessee Titans offseason positional analysis: RB
Which Chris Johnson will we see this year? Photo by Andrew Strickert for Total Titans
We continue our position by position analysis of the Titans with a look now at the running backs.I was tempted to abide by the saying, "if you can't say anything good about someone, then don't say anything at all." However, if I had followed that advice, then this would...
‘Ship has sailed’ on Moss reuniting with Pats
It was considered “doubtful” to transpire even seven months ago, and absolutely nothing has changed since — there won’t be a second tour of duty for Randy Moss in New England.
The Boston Globe reports the “feeling” around the organization is that the “ship has sailed” on a possible Moss-Patriots reunion.
Moss, who announced on Monday...
Titans FS Michael Griffin Not Leery Of Franchise Tag
Tennessee Titans safety Michael Griffin, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 13, says he doesn't have any major qualms if the organization applied the franchise tag to him. It is not certain the team will use the tag on any player, but the Titans are considering Griffin as a possibility at $6.2 million, and according to what the safety told Nashville...
Titans, Finnegan haven’t made any progress
According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, no progress has been made between the Titans and cornerback Cortland Finnegan, even though both sides talked on Friday.
Right now it continues to look like Finnegan will become an unrestricted free agent on March 13th and have the opportunity to test the open market.
Randy Moss to come back to the NFL
Over the last week, one of the biggest talks around the NFL is the return of receiver Randy Moss. Moss has spent a little time with a few teams including the Patriots, Vikings and most recently the Titans.
This conversation is a lot like the Peyton Manning scenario going around. He will be playing this next season-but with whom?
To be completely honest I highly hope that Tennessee...
Titans Talking Long-Term Deals With LB's Patrick Bailey, Tim Shaw
The Titans have had conversations with linebacker Patrick Bailey about a long-term contract, according to his agent Dr. D.S. Ping. I am always optimistic, Ping said. Tennessee is a team that likes to take care of its ball players, and Patrick is happy with Tennessee. Well see. The Titans have also discussed a multiyear contract for linebacker Tim Shaw, who was special teams...
Report: Patriots aren’t interested in Randy Moss
According to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Glode, the feeling in the New England area is that the Patriots aren’t interested in bringing free agent Randy Moss back for next season.
Even though the Patriots need a vertical threat at the wide receiver position, they need to fill that void through the draft or by signing a free agent that isn’t past his prime.
Titans, Finnegan still far apart on possible contract
Before last season, the Titans offered cornerback Cortland Finnegan a contract worth roughly $28 million over four years. Finnegan’s camp wanted a deal greater than Johnathan Joseph’s five-year, $48.75 million deal. One solid season by Finnegan later, the two sides don’t appear any closer to a deal. The Titans and Finnegan’s agent Terry Watson spoke…
Former teammates have doubts about Moss' comeback
Warren Sapp and Heath Evans are both former teammates of Randy Moss, and both men see significant challenges standing in the way of a return to the NFL for the mercurial receiver.
