The Tennessee Titans are working toward bringing veteran defensive end Dave Ball back into the fold. “We've been negotiating with the Titans off and on and working on it,” said Ball, who has been a mainstay in Tennessee's defensive line rotation since joining the team four years ago. Ball has 15.5 career sacks, all of which have come since he joined the Titans as a street free agent prior to the '08 season. He posted a career-high seven sacks in 2010 and re-signed with Tennessee last season for a one-year, $1.3 million deal. At the end of last season, Ball, who briefly contemplated retirement last year due to a concussion, expressed a desire to play in 2012 and to return to the Titans. “We've been discussing things back and forth, and we'll see what happens,” Ball said. “I'd definitely like to get something done sooner rather than later if we could.”

Tennessee Titans re-sign LB Tim Shaw

As first reported on Twitter by CB Ryan Mouton, the Tennessee Titans announced today they re-signed free agent linebacker and special teams star Tim Shaw to a multi-year contract. Shaw's agent, Scott Smith, indicated it was a three-year deal. Financial terms have not been disclosed that I've seen, but I'd expect the deal to be similar to the three-year, $3.3 million deal...

The Titans need a DE early in the draft and I don't like most of them

ESPN's Todd McShay recently talked about defensive ends in the draft, as reported by John Glennon. “This class is loaded with defensive ends in the back half of the first round and all the way through the third round. You’ve got some guys that can get after the quarterback.” McShay mentioned three of them - Andre Branch, Whitney Mercilus and Nick Perry - as possibilities...

Tennessee Titans 2012 preseason schedule announced

For the third straight day, some vaguely substantive-like news thing out of Titans land. After the signings of Tim Shaw and Leger Douzable (officially confirmed today) the past two days, today saw the announcement of the Titans' preseason schedule. Last year at this time, I got to make snarky comments about the incongruent nature of announcing the preseason schedule when nobody...

Just as he had done the previous week when asked about the Peyton Manning saga that was still unfolding, Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck gave polished and professional answers regarding his return to the team after the Titans lost out on Manning. Hasselbeck had spoken of being "comfortable" with whatever decision was made in an interview with TitanInsider.com in the...

Nate Washington Doesn't Understand Titans Chase Of Peyton Manning

This offseason, a lot of teams chased Peyton Manning. The Tennessee Titans, at the urging of owner Bud Adams, were one of the finalists in the Manning sweepstakes. A lot of people in the Tennessee area would've loved to land Peyton. But it wasn't a unanimous sentiment. According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, the Tennessee Titans worked out former South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey and the New York Giants met with on Monday. Tennessee Titans sign DT Leger Douzable

The Tennessee Titans have reportedly signed DL Leger Douzable, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, to a one-year deal. Considering Douzable is mentioning it on his own twitter, I'm willing to accept it notwithstanding the absence of team confirmation.Douzable played his college ball at Central Florida before going undrafted in 2008. He started his career on the Vikings practice...
