Fox Sports Tennessee:
Training camp begins for the Titans one week from Saturday and when it does whether wide receiver Kenny Britt is on the field or not his status is sure to rank among the dominant topics of the day, as Britt was reportedly arrested for the eighth time in his three-year NFL career on Friday.
Britt is said to have failed a field sobriety test as he attempted to enter a military base, Fort Campbell in Kentucky, about an hour's drive northwest of Nashville, and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Britt is coming off surgery for a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee last season. He underwent an additional procedure on that knee in May and also recently underwent another on his left knee more recently. So whether Britt is physically ready for the start of camp is one lingering question.
Another, now, obviously, is whether disciplinary issues also might prevent him from starting the season on time. Britt was lucky to elude disciplinary action last year, as he was arrested twice during the lockout, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took a pass on that one since the league was shut down.
This time, Britt might not be so lucky.
The Titans released a statement to the Tennesseean in regards to the arrest, "We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more facts."
When the Titans selected wide receiver Kendall Wright out of Baylor in the first round in April, some were surprised. They seemed to have pressing needs on the offensive line and with their pass rush.
Now the pick appears to be prescient. If general manager Ruston Webster and coach Mike Munchak decide they have had enough of Britt's antics and Wright shows promise, they might have the option of parting ways with Britt, who has produced on the field but been a headache off of it.
Regardless, with defending AFC Champion New England visiting LP Field for the Titans' opener on Sept. 9, Britt's timing could not have been worse.

Kenny Britt is a kid that probably won’t ever get it right. As the subject of today’s episode of Who Drove Drunk In The NFL, Britt has now been arrested eight times since joining the league.
Regardless of his talent or game changing ability, I can’t even take Britt that seriously until he begins to at best keep himself out of the situations that will ruin his career.
