Lower guys on the totem pole are busting their tails to fill the last few available roster spots while the starters and confirmed back-ups are trying to get sharp and stay healthy. But preseason football is still football. And with football comes nasty gruesome injuries. Marc Mariani, a third-year receiver for the Tennessee Titans, was the unfortunate victim of a disgusting broken leg in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
If you get squeamish, you probably definitely don’t want to watch this. Mariani, who made the Pro Bowl last season as the AFC’s kick and punt return specialist caught a punt and headed up field before his leg was rolled up on. The worst part about the video (besides his lower leg taking an incorrect left turn) is him grabbing his injured leg. Just awful.
Good luck to Marc in his recovery.
