The tale of NFL wide receiver Titus Young is becoming sadder by the day. As Young remains in jail on charges of attempted burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, those who knew him before off-field issues derailed his NFL career are worried about him. That includes Young’s high school coach, E.C. Robinson. Robinson told The Associated Press that Young didn’t know the St. Louis Rams had cut him 11 days after the Detroit Lions had done the same. Young was released by the Lions on Feb. 4 and picked up off waivers by the Rams on Feb. 5. St. Louis waived Young on Feb. 15. Robinson said his daughter had to keep Young from wandering out in traffic when he saw him last. “He shouldn’t be out on the streets,” Robinson said. “The day he left my house, I was scared. I mean, you’ve got a loose cannon out there that could go off anytime.” Young’s father said he could see his son changing after suffering an untreated concussion in 2011. Young faces 13 charges and could spend up to 10 1/2 years in prison.
