The Jets Blog:
The season hasn’t been a particularly spectacular one for rookie punter T.J. Conley as he has shown to be wildly inconsistent at times but, compared to what he has gone through, he is happy to learn on the job and find ways to avoid repeating mistakes.
He enjoys the daily regimen — 50 catches from the Jugs machine and about 50 punts on his twice-broken right leg, the one with a surgically implanted titanium rod running from his knee down to his ankle.

It is said that Conley has the leg to be an NFL mainstay, a dependable top-of-the line punter. But before it can happen, his coaches insist he become more consistent.
“When he does it, then it’s fine,” special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff said. “And when it’s not happening, then it’s frustrating for all of us.”
Conley is 24th in net average (38.1), but third in p...

Serby's Sunday Q&A with... Matt Slauson
Jets offensive lineman Matt Slauson blocked out some time to chat with Post columnist Steve Serby.

Calvin Pace Says Jets Must Win Last Six Games To Make Playoffs
It is officially that season again. No, not the merry holiday season that kicked off Thursday. It is the real Jets season, the time when the team that comes in from training camp bragging about winning Super Bowls finds itself scrambling for a playoff spot. Thats the story of our seasons these past three years, Jets linebacker Calvin Pace said. Weve had to make these...

New York Jets WR Plaxico Burress, 11.27
On his third down catch on the final offensive drive…
It was an all-out blitz by Buffalo. He (Mark Sanchez) just looked at me and gave me the signal. I didn’t think Sanchez was going to throw it.
On the difficulty of his third down grab…
It was just a regular catch to me. The goal is to haul them all in and just try to find a way...

On the third down catch that Plaxico Burress made…
I don’t know if words do it justice. It was a big time catch in a crucial situation and it really gave us a chance to take the lead there and either have a gimme field goal or go for the lead like we ended up doing. So if that doesn’t happen we have a real long field goal ahead of us, and he just made it a lot easier on our...
One Down, Five To Go: Jets Win Ugly…Very Ugly
The New York Jets will never make it easy. They will make us sick at times. They will confuse us. They will make it as hard as possible on themselves. They didn’t play well today. They put themselves in a dogfight with a subpar, injured team. Yet, in the end, they fought…and they found a way to win. We’ll get to that later, but let’s start with the problems.
First off, what...

Don’t Judge Stevie Johnson’s Touchdown Dance
Stevie Johnson‘s touchdown celebration was in poor taste. But so what? Most player celebrations are in poor taste. After scoring a touchdown against the Jets yesterday Johnson celebrated by mimicking Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the thigh and mocking Santonio Holmes‘ Jet celebration (he crashed his Jet). I’ve never been a fan of touchdown dances [...]
