After one game, there should be no need for panic, but after what happened to the Steelers, I believe it is time to panic. 16 NFL teams are currently 0-1, but the Steelers are much more than that. It doesn’t look like anything has changed from last season, and the offense looks even worse. And on top of that, Pittsburgh is now down two starters.
Maurkice Pouncey, the Steelers best offensive lineman, will not see another down of football in 2013. The loss of Pouncey will be quite evident starting this Monday night against the Bengals. The offensive line is a complete mess, and it needs to get better quickly.
Larry Foote going down isn’t that huge of a loss. Foote wasn’t that great last season, and didn’t play very well in the season opener.
The play-calling and coaching seems to be getting worse and worse. Before Isaac Redman fumbled on the bad exchange from Ben Roethlisberger, the entire team looked confused. Big Ben even wanted to take a timeout, but that thought never crossed M...

Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker and defensive team captain Larry Foote had surgery Tuesday to repair the torn right biceps that he suffered in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans. Now that he has been lost for the season, you have to think he's probably played his last down in Pittsburgh.
Foote, who was an unrestricted free agent this past offseason, signed a...

I’m sure Velasco will have a chance to replace Pouncey now that he’s done for the season with a torn ACL and MCL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey early during the first game of the season after a collision with his teammate. The early injury update is not good.

Maurkice Pouncey suffered a major knee injury on Sunday after being taken out by teammate David DeCastro on a rushing play in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, and he is out for the season. Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin announced after the game that Pouncey will require surgery for his ACL and MCL. DeCastro […]
One of the huge surprises from Sunday’s action was the Steelers’ opening day loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. It was a very Steeler-esque game, but at the end of the day, it was the Titans that had the upper hand.
The Steelers’ defense actually did its part in the 16 to 9 loss. The Titans were unable to move the ball consistently, but they were able to do just enough...

Following the ruptured biceps injury suffered by Pittsburgh Steelers starting inside linebacker Larry Foote, who was just placed on injured reserve, it goes without saying that the team must turn to somebody else now at the position after Foote played nearly every snap just a season ago.
In Sunday’s loss, Kion Wilson replaced him on defense, playing nine snaps...
The Pittsburgh Steelers preached about an impending change of attitude in their locker room after a lackluster 8-8 campaign last season.
Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season has not been very kind to the men of Steel City.
The road back to becoming an AFC North powerhouse will be far more difficult for Pittsburgh after Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey (torn ACL & MCL) and linebacker...

With the news that Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Larry Foote may very well be lost for the rest of the season followed a ruptured bicep suffered in the team’s opening game loss to the Tennessee Titans, there may very well be a roster move in the near future to bring back one of the team’s preseason inside linebackers.
The most likely candidate would...
With starting center Maurkice Pouncey now out for the season with a knee injury, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday during his press conference that the plan right now is to start second-year offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum at center Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"As we prepare right now, Beachum is going to be our starting center and we...
Opening weekend of the NFL always has a few surprises, but even so, much of the week is composed of fulfilled expectations. The Jaguars were awful, as expected. The Saints and Falcons were in a close battle to the end — as expected. The two exceptions, at least in the early round of games, was the Titans and the Jets surprising everyone with opening wins.
The Titans were able...
