Joe Caporoso: 12 Pack Rob Celletti: Though I’m not one to panic after every loss and banish this team back to “Same Old Jets”-ville, I’d be lying if I told you I was confident about this game. Can you pass on the Patriots? Absolutely. But will the Jets be able to provide their embattled quarterback time to throw? Will the Jets get back to their run-heavy ways? Will the defense play like it did last December vs. the Patriots, or last January?  This increasingly seems like one of those games where the Jets need to play nearly perfect football (no turnovers, no penalties of the backbreaking variety, finish off good field position opportunities with touchdowns, not field goals) PLUS get a couple of breaks to win.  Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening.  For the first time this year, I’m picking the Jets to lose 27-20.  The Pats will have nothing but revenge on their mind, and let’s call a spade a spade: the Jets are currently a fragile team that has a lot of uncertainty sprinkled thr...

Mark Sanchez is a Marked Man

We really feel kind of sorry for Mark Sanchez. All he’s done is lead his team to two straight AFC championship games in a row. In a world of fantasy football and stat crazy geeks, Sanchez is an average QB. However, Sanchez, as Al Davis would say “just wins baby”. He does come with faults; he’s inconsistent and lackadaisical at times. He does goofy things on and off the field...

Run-first offense fails to make Mark

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- At least Mark Sanchez came out of this game without a new injury. The Patriots hit the Jets quarterback just five times yesterday, a big improvement from the 10 times the Ravens drilled him last week. But Sanchez was not much of a factor in the 30-21...

Slow Starts Burying the Jets

Mark Sanchez was at the podium last night, stunned and disappointed with his team’s performance, and had no answers for the media on the most important question … against a terrible defense, why another slow start? “I hate seeing Rex like that," the Jets’ QB quarterback said. "It’s frustrating." The frustration started early, as the Jets began with four straight...

Patriots defense still searching for success

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez labored through one of the worst games of his brief professional career in front of the entire country on Sunday night.

Sunday Night Football Proves the MLB Does Not Need Replay

Sanchez and Flacco bore us on Sunday night, but they were at least better than all the stops for reviews. Much of the East Coast tapped out on Sunday night before the final whistle between the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens, and the lull of Joe Flacco and Mark Sanchez missing target after target isn’t what did them in, either. After the season-threatening lockout this...

Jets Schottenheimer thinks running game will be great

When was the last time you saw the New York Jets running game look like this? It’s bad enough that the offensive line, without C Nick Mangold for the past two games, has been a liability for both Shonn Greene and QB Mark Sanchez, but to hear … [visit site to read more]Jets Schottenheimer thinks running game will be great - The Jet Press - The Jet Press - A New York Jets Blog

Jets Hit Turbulence as Patriots Power Their Way to Win 30-21

Last January, the New York Jets proclaimed the New England Patriots soft. After opening the year with an aerial assault, Bill Belichick and company have gone hard hat and the Jets simply can’t say that the Patriots are soft anymore.

4 players fined $15K by NFL for rough hits

Baltimore All-Pro defensive tackle Haloti Ngata has been fined $15,000 for lowering his helmet into the back of New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Seeing Green, BenJarvus and Brady Soar Over Jets

Quarterbacks Tom Brady and Mark Sanchez were involved in a shootout for much of the game.  BenJarvus Green-Ellis was the difference maker for the Pats though, rushing for 136 yards and scoring twice as New England improved to 4-1 this season with a 30-21 win over the New York Jets. A win against the division-rival Jets and head coach Rex Ryan is always a top priority for the Patriots...

The Frustrating Negativity Around The New York Jets

I was out a bar last night watching the New York Yankees have their season come to an end. When I was approached by a friend from my town who is a “Jets” fan. I put that in quotes because it is hard to actually consider this individual a fan. He has never said a positive thing about the team and truly believes they are always some combination of awful and overrated. Rex Ryan...

The Underdog Goes To New England Part 1: The Offense

The New York Jets are not a top 5 NFL team in terms of talent. Let’s look at this with some perspective, as many are trying to do amongst a 2 game slide that makes the season feel like it’s already over. Quarterback: Mark Sanchez is 6’2, and does not have the arm strength of a Stafford or a Freeman. He may be more mobile than both of those guys, but when you toss it 30 yards...
