NEW ORLEANS - NOVEMBER 30: Quarterback Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots celebrates after Laurence Maroney scored a 2-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter against the New Orleans Saints at Louisana Superdome on November 30, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At first it looked as if the San Francisco 49ers were going to crush the Patriots before the first half would end. However, a 31-3 49er lead was quickly erased by a furious comeback that had the Patriots even at 31 early into the fourth quarter. However, a huge kick return and one play later a blown tackle by Kyle Arrington resulted in a 38 yard touchdown and that was pretty much it for the Patriots. All the hard work that went into tying the game went out the window in a blink of an eye. Brady and the offense couldn’t muster anymore after that and the 49ers left Foxboro with a 41-34 win. Brady feels that the offense throttled down after tying the game and talked about it after the game. "When we were down 31-3, that was my thought," Brady said via Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. "I thought we were going to come back and win the game." "Because I look around at the quality and character of the guys that we've got, and I have the confidence that we can do it," Brady said. "I'm really proud of the fact that our guys never blinked an eye to the best defense in the league." "We kind of gave it them at that point," Brady said. "We didn't do anything on offense, and we didn't put up the kind of fight that I wish we would have been able to."   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
