Opportunities come in all shapes and sizes, but for New York Giants receiver Rueben Randall his chance is coming in the face of contract hold outs. Starting receivers Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz are both not attending OTAs in order to force the team’s hand in giving them new contracts, however, while they stay away its open chances for receiver’s lower on the depth chart to show the coaches what they got. Since the departure of Mario Manningham, the Giants haven’t replaced his production. Randall is one of the key players the team is looking at to fill that void. Randle was drafted by the New York Giants in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL Draft and it’s his time step up and make the second year jump.. Coach Tom Coughlin when not being critical of Nicks and Cruz, took the time to talk about Randall’s progress. "He’s moving in that direction," Coughlin said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York. "He’s certainly had many opportunities and if there’s a guy who really has a chance to step his game up and really show what he can do, it’s happening right now to Rueben." Randall adds: "I’m a lot more confident in what I do," Randall said. "Going out there and making more plays, understanding the offense and more on the same page with Eli. And also, getting more trust from the coaches, and going out there and getting more reps so I can show my ability more."
