Victor Cruz and the New York Giants were on their way to a contract extension almost six months ago.  At that time, Cruz was reporting that negotiations with the Giants were going good, and that the frame-work for a new deal had been in place. That was several months ago, and now the two have hit a stalemate.  Cruz wants his money, the Giants have dug in, and the one person stuck in the middle, Tom Coughlin, is supremely frustrated by the matter according to the Star Ledger. “I like to think that I can control everything, and that I can have something to do with making sure that something gets done that I think would be beneficial to everyone,” Coughlin said today, before a book signing at the Fifth Avenue Barnes and Noble. “And certainly I believe that about Victor. We want Victor to be a Giant until the end of his career, but obviously he and his people, his agents, they’ve got to make that call. It’s a little bit frustrating in that you’d like to have it done, that’s all.” Both sides reportedly have been working towards a resolution, and Coughlin admitted that he had a nice conversation with Cruz last week. It will be interesting to see how this scenario plays out.
