PLAYERS: Tony Carter
The newest Bronco, cornerback Tony Carter, was initiated into the Broncos defense at the start of practice today. Surrounded by all of his defensive teammates, Carter performed 20 up-downs — the football drill in which the player starts standing up, goes down to his belly and then back up again, over and over. Each Broncos defensive player has done it this season, with most of the players going through the drill on the first day of training camp. Each time the Broncos have signed a new defensive player, he, too, has gone through the ritual.
