Former Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez already pushed himself past Shannon Sharpe in the record book. And now Tony G has pushed Sharpe out the door at CBS Sports. Gonzalez has been hired by the network as an analyst for its pregame show, "The NFL Today," as well as other CBS platforms. Gonzalez essentially will be replacing Sharpe and Dan Marino in the studio, and will be joined by James Brown, Bill Cowher and Boomer Esiason. "Having just stepped off the playing field, Tony brings a fresh and insightful perspective," said CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus in a statement. "As a future Hall of Famer, we are excited for him to share his knowledge, experiences and opinions with our viewers. Tony was one of the most respected and hard-working players in the NFL and a tremendous teammate. We look forward to him bringing these attributes to CBS Sports.
