Swearinger. Keller suffered three torn ligaments and is out for the season. Dustin Keller is done for 2013. (Photo: BleacherReport) Keller shined in his brief stint in a Dolphins...

Gonzalez rejoins Falcons after time spent with son

While conceding he's ''a little rusty,'' Atlanta Falcons right end Tony Gonzalez says he'll be ready for the start of his final NFL season. Gonzalez has missed most of the preseason with the Falcons, part of an arrangement with team officials when he decided to put off retirement for another year. The 37-year-old rejoined the team this past weekend and will...

With Dustin Keller done, time is now for Dolphins' backup TEs

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins began life without Dustin Keller in earnest on Tuesday. The team practiced for the first time since the tight end suffered a season-ending knee injury during Miami's preseason loss at Houston on Saturday night. "Certainly, he presented challenges for defenses and also some opportunities for us," Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike...

Dolphins place TE Dustin Keller on injured reserve

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller has been placed on injured reserve with a severe right knee injury that will force him to miss the entire season. The move came Tuesday, three days after Keller was hurt in an exhibition game at Houston in which he tore several knee ligaments. According to,  ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on NFL Insiders that Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller didn’t suffer any nerve damage after tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL as well as dislocating his knee. Per Schefter, Keller’s knee “cartilage and nerves are intact,” and “doctors believe he will have a chance to resume his NFL career.” The catastrophic knee...

Gonzalez 'not going to jump ship'

Atlanta tight end Tony Gonzalez put off retirement for one more year with a single goal in mind: winning his first Super Bowl ring. But the Falcons are mired in a three-game losing streak and ravaged by injuries, so it seems more and more likely that Gonzalez's farewell season will wind up being a real bummer. Just don't go telling him that. ''As far as I'm...

Hitting Nowhere

Not DJ Swearinger, But Better This weekend, Dolphins TE Dustin Keller more ore less suffered a career-ending injury when Texans S D.J. Swearinger (and is anyone else having a "Deadwood" flashback when they read that name?) came up in coverage and made a clean, but low hit. The shoulder caught Keller with awful perfection on the knee breaking both ligaments and dislocating...

NFL to review hit on Dustin Keller

The NFL Competition Committee is going to be taking a look at the hit that ended Dustin Keller’s season. This really isn’t a surprise as it was a pretty brutal hit and the NFL is being run by a bunch of softies. D.J. Swearinger shouldn’t worry about anything as the league has deemed the hit legal and there won’t be any punishment. They’re looking to see if there should...

2013 Atlanta Falcons Preview

The Atlanta Falcons should have been the NFC champions last season. They had arguably the most dynamic receiving corps in the NFL with Roddy White, Julio Jones, and Tony Gonzalez, and of course a very well blossomed Matt Ryan under center. But gone is the past, and while the present holds worthless (at least in my opinion) preseason games, we look to the future and the upcoming...
