Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is hoping for some calls against the Denver Broncos secondary on Sunday. “They grab, they hold, they’ve almost put a lot of pressure on the refs – whether or not they’re going to call the game close or not,” Romo said on a conference call with reporters

  • Romo is not going to get much time to throw anyway. The cowboys will be just like the Eagles, watching the Broncos march right down the field.
  • Peyton is a great QB....reminds me of J. Unitas. Awesome QB and he is on a roll...right now.

BUT...and this is HUGE...Peyton is a DOME QB. Remember what happened last year when the Broncos played in frigid weather?

Peyton is a DOME QB and has an 8-9 record in the playoffs so don't count your Superbowl rings until they hatch
  • Uninformed comment-- but that is expected on these forums. Peyton won his only SB to date on a outside field with pouring rain against the Bears. Inside a dome his team lost to the Saints. Right there your comment falls flat. Elway also had a poor record in SB's until the Broncos won two consecutive at the end of his career. As important as the QB is, the entire fortunes of a team cannot rest just on his back--any QB. The Broncos loss in the playoffs to the Ravens was largely on the shoulders of the poor play of the defensive backs--not Manning.

    Update: October 04, 2013
My mistake on the Saints SB win- for some reason was thinking they played in New Orleans that year. Anyway, the point is overstated as how important playing inside is to a dome team. Stats are interesting but they don't always tell the whole story.
  • My mistake on the Saints-Colts SB, which was not in a dome.
  • Darl'in, Peyton's on a roll. Regardless of the past, when this man puts his mind to something, he cannot be stopped.
