Most of the NFL rankings I've seen either on TV or read in newspapers or online have listed your Indianapolis Colts as No. 1. While I don't like to be a homer, it makes sense. The Colts started off 14-0 last year, lost two games they decided not to win with their best players to the end, and were considered a favorite by almost everyone in Miami to defeat New Orleans.
That the Colts lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl doesn't seem to matter.
So, here's my Top 10 for Week 1.
1.) Colts (0-0) -- The O-line is banged up, WR Reggie Wayne and DE Robert Mathis will play disgruntled because they want new contracts, No. 4 receiver turned punt returner Anthony Gonzalez is unhappy and Houston always gives the Colts a hard time. That's enough uncertainty to make for an interesting opener. (Next game: at Houston, Sunday.)
2.) Saints (1-0) -- A gritty win over Minnesota on Thursday night showed the Saints can get it done with defense. That the Saints didn't score more...
