Here is a no-holds-barred version of the Top 5 active NFL coaches. With the absence of Mike Shanahan, Jon Gruden, and Tony Dungy this year, we needed to update the Top 5 Active NFL Coaches. For the next week I'll be hosting a count down to the best active coach in the NFL. 1. Bill Belichick, New England Patriots Surprise, Surprise, Surprise, Bill Belichick finds himself at number one for a change. I will banish anyone who challenges this win by Belichick. The man in the gray hoody is always looking for ways to win at all costs. Belichick has proven that he will do everything and anything in his power to help prepare his team for what's to come on Sunday. Look for Belichick to shine as bright as ever in 2009. Once he see's his name at the top of this list he will not want to let me down. Seriously though, If you expect any coach to do a better job than Belichick this year you're probably sadly mistaken. I'm not a huge fan of Belicheat but we have to give credit where credit is due. Can you think of another coach who would lead his troops the way Belichick did last year after losing Tom Brady in the first quarter of the first game of the year? I personally can't but I'm sure someone out there can. Who would you rather lead your team? After this year they'll probably change the name to the Belichick trophy, hidden sideline cameras or not this guy can flat out coach a barrell of monkeys to the playoffs. I'm looking forward to seeing a healthy Tom Brady and Belichick working his magic. I think the AFC East may be in trouble this year if the Patriots click on all cylinders. Just for the hell of it I'll show you a small portion of Belichick's resume: 153 Career wins 13 Division titles 5 Superbowl titles Colts, Lions, Broncos, Giants, Browns, Patriots, and Jets Hottest girlfriend for a head coach (of his age!)
