Taking Bad Schotz:
New York Jets
New Orleans Saints
St. Louis Rams
9. Arizona Cardinals are 3-0
Given that it’s too early to call the Cardinals playoff contenders, they have demonstrated some great football so far. They have beat two preseason Super Bowl contenders in back-to-back games (Patriots, Eagles), and their defense made Michael Vick look like Kevin Kolb this week
8. The New York Jets are in 1st place in the AFC East
This is surprising for two reasons; one because the Patriots aren’t in first with a 1-2 record, and secondly because we are talking about the Jets. After failing to score a touchdown in the preseason, the Jets looked like a completely different team in Week 1, putting up a league-high 48 points. After a loss to the Steelers in Week 2, the Jets managed to pull off an ugly win on the road in Miami, propelling them to first place in the division.
7. C.J. Spiller
No running back has been more impressive this season then C.J. Spiller, who is close to averaging 10 yards per carry, and over 100 yards per game. While filling in for...

The Eagles gave the Giants a second chance to win “Sunday Night Football” when they called timeout prior to Lawrence Tynes’ first field goal attempt in the final minute of the game — a kick that he missed. Luckily for them, Tynes also missed his second field goal after being given a shot at redemption, allowing the Eagles to win the game 19-17.
After the contest, Eagles quarterback...
Each week, Athlon Sports will highlight the three most important names in the NFL. Our editors debate which player must play his best this weekend...
The Philadelphia Eagles have been a pass-happy offense ever since Andy Reid took the head coaching job. When he aligns himself with offensive coaches such as Marty Mornhinweg, that philosophy will only get stronger and become more evident. It was the case with Donovan McNabb, and now it is the case with Michael Vick.
The problem is, it just isn’t working. The Eagles have LeSean...
Last Sept., Michael Vick suffered a broken hand against the Giants and was very critical of the refs after the game. When reminded of that, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul foreshadowed what is to come in the Sunday night game this weekend.
Pierre Paul couldn’t keep a straight face when speaking to reporters on Friday saying: “”Yeah? We’ll give him (Vick) some more...
Michael Vick has been battered and beaten thus far in the season, and yet the media reacts as if the Eagles are 0-3!
Philadelphia is still sitting pretty at 2-1, and Nick Foles is more than a capable backup behind Vick in case anything goes wrong.
Despite the dangerous southpaw that is often considered an injured player waiting to happen, Vick and the Eagles have nothing to be depressed...
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants to get their 3rd win of the year and it wasn’t easy at all. The game was one those the Eagles had to chisel each yard out of. The Giants defense had their hands full trying to stop LeSean McCoy. McCoy rushed for 123 yards in 23 carries, he was there when Vick needed him and he is a big reason the Eagles were able to hold on to get...
If the Eagles can’t contain the Giants D line, it will be a long day for Michael Vick on Sunday.
Sunday night’s matchup with the New York Giants will be a huge game for the Philadelphia Eagles. There is huge difference between 3-1 and 2-2 in the NFL, and a loss in this game could really be a setback for the Eagles.
This game will undoubtedly be won in the trenches. And specifically...
Go ahead and exhale, Andy Reid. You didn't cost the Eagles the game after all. Reid nearly became a big time goat on Sunday night after he called a timeout just before Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes attempted a 54-yard field goal in the closing seconds. Generally, icing the kicker like that wouldn't be that big of a deal, but Tynes missed the lengthy first attempt, meaning...
Philly Sports World Fantasy Week 4 sits and starts
Week 3 game of the week New Orleans at Green Bay. The matchup has home team favor with Green Bay prevailing over the defense-less Saints. Past years you might think a shoot out but not this season. Rodgers, will turn his fortunes around passing for 3 touchdowns. The Packer defense, will be key controlling the game and picking off...
Philadelphia wideout DeSean Jackson came through with six catches and 99 yards receiving Sunday in a victory over the Giants.Fantasy Spin:Jackson was also able to haul in his first touchdown of the season, a 19-yard strike from Michael Vick with under two minutes to play in the second quarter. Jackson is currently on pace to finish the year with 1,332 receiving yards, which would...
Defense dominated early and the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles were scoreless after the first quarter on Sunday night.
Eli Manning completed just 4 of 11 passes for 35 yards. Michael Vick had a better start, going 5 for 9 for 72 yards.
The defending Super Bowl champion Giants (2-1) have struggled against the Eagles (2-1) in this NFC East rivalry, losing seven of the last...
Kendall: TE Martellus Bennett or Owen Daniels in Week 4?
Given his proneness for bonehead-like behavior, I thought Bennett would be a disaster for the Giants. The theory was sound: yes, Eli Manning likes to utilize his tight ends, but if Jerry Jones, an owner who has seen his share of immature and imprudent conduct, thought the Texas A&M product was detrimental to his team...
This will be the Giants third prime time game through the first four weeks of the season. A brutal, daunting task which has proven advantageous for New York, at least record wise. The Giants are coming off of a mini-bye since they beat down the Panthers last Thursday night while the Eagles are coming off of a Sunday afternoon beat down of their own. Only problem: they were the ones...
The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants head into a Week 4 matchup against division rival Philadelphia on a roll. After dropping their opening game to Cowboys, the Giants have won two straight. The Eagles, on the other hand, pulled out two close games in the first two weeks, before losing on the road in Arizona last Sunday. Here are THREE BOLD PREDICTIONS for this Week 4...
The Philadelphia Eagles are matched up with the division rival New York Giants this Sunday night in Philadelphia. If you played any Eagles in last week's fantasy game, you probably were disappointed with the lackluster performance by the offense.
No touchdowns by any player as the Eagles only mustered two field goals. The Eagles have been somewhat of an enigma this...
