9. Arizona Cardinals are 3-0

Given that it’s too early to call the Cardinals playoff contenders, they have demonstrated some great football so far. They have beat two preseason Super Bowl contenders in back-to-back games (Patriots, Eagles), and their defense made Michael Vick look like Kevin Kolb this week

8.  The New York Jets are in 1st place in the AFC East

This is surprising for two reasons; one because the Patriots aren’t in first with a 1-2 record, and secondly because we are talking about the Jets. After failing to score a touchdown in the preseason, the Jets looked like a completely different team in Week 1, putting up a league-high 48 points.  After a loss to the Steelers in Week 2, the Jets managed to pull off an ugly win on the road in Miami, propelling them to first place in the division.

7.  C.J. Spiller

No running back has been more impressive this season then C.J. Spiller, who is close to averaging 10 yards per carry, and over 100 yards per game.  While filling in for the injured Fred Jackson, Spiller has been the biggest steal of fantasy football drafts so far.  Spiller looks to be back on the field soon after his injury from last week, and he is a serious contender to lead the league in rushing this season.

6.  Danny Amendola

Prior to this season, not many people had heard of Danny Amendola.  He was hurt all of last year, but in 2010 he had a quiet 85 catches.  This year, he is averaging roughly 100 receiving yards per game, and through three games has 25 catches.  If you drafted Danny Amendola in fantasy football this year, then kudos for picking a big-time steal.

5.  Nobody is talking about Tim Tebow anymore

Surprisingly, Tim Tebow has managed to stay out of the headlines.  Maybe this is because he hasn’t done anything this season, and there are much more players that have been more worthy of attention.  Through 3 games, Tim Tebow has 33 yards rushing, and no passing attempts.  Despite what people are saying, the Jets are actually using him right.

4.  New Orleans Saints are 0-3

I mean we all thought the Saints would struggle without head coach Sean Payton this season, but we didn’t think it would be this bad. Their defense has been atrocious despite signing Steve Spagnuolo as defensive coordinator.  Having Jonathan Vilma has been a big blow to the defense, and with the Saints facing the Packers this weekend, starting the season 0-4 looks like a strong possibility.

3.  Chris Johnson is averaging less than 2 yards a carry

Just three years ago, Chris Johnson led the league in rushing with 2000 yards.  Today, he is averaging just 1.4 yards per carry, and has been one of the league’s worst starting running backs this season.  We all know that Chris Johnson has talent, but for the second season in a row, he has been disappointing many fantasy football owners.

2.  It took Roger Goodell three weeks to get rid of the replacement referees

Nobody could have predicted that the replacement refs would have been as bad as they are.  In fact, they had the one guy in the country who thought Russell Wilson’s interception in the end zone against the Packers was a touchdown. We can thank the replacement refs for being responsible for the worst call in NFL history, and for being so bad, that Goodell had no leverage in negotiating with the NFLRA.

1.  Michael Vick hasn’t gotten hurt yet

Vick has had his struggles this season, throwing for six interceptions and just three touchdowns.  Despite the Eagles offensive line having injury issues, and Vick being sacked nine times, it’s been a miracle that the NFL’s most fragile QB hasn’t gotten injured yet.  One bright spot for the Eagles so far this year.

Michael Vick disagrees with decision to ice kicker

The Eagles gave the Giants a second chance to win “Sunday Night Football” when they called timeout prior to Lawrence Tynes’ first field goal attempt in the final minute of the game — a kick that he missed. Luckily for them, Tynes also missed his second field goal after being given a shot at redemption, allowing the Eagles to win the game 19-17. After the contest, Eagles quarterback...

NFL Rumors: Marty Mornhinweg Allowing Michael Vick To Make Too Many Mistakes For Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles have been a pass-happy offense ever since Andy Reid took the head coaching job. When he aligns himself with offensive coaches such as Marty Mornhinweg, that philosophy will only get stronger and become more evident. It was the case with Donovan McNabb, and now it is the case with Michael Vick. The problem is, it just isn’t working. The Eagles have LeSean...

Giants Must Hit Michael Vick Early and Often

Last Sept., Michael Vick suffered a broken hand against the Giants and was very critical of the refs after the game.  When reminded of that, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul foreshadowed what is to come in the Sunday night game this weekend. New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles NFL Week 4 Preview: Will The Real Eagles Show Up?

Michael Vick has been battered and beaten thus far in the season, and yet the media reacts as if the Eagles are 0-3! Philadelphia is still sitting pretty at 2-1, and Nick Foles is more than a capable backup behind Vick in case anything goes wrong. Despite the dangerous southpaw that is often considered an injured player waiting to happen, Vick and the Eagles have nothing to be depressed...

Michael Vick Not a Big Fan of Icing Kickers, Thinks It's Time to 'End That Tradition'

Go ahead and exhale, Andy Reid. You didn't cost the Eagles the game after all. Reid nearly became a big time goat on Sunday night after he called a timeout just before Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes attempted a 54-yard field goal in the closing seconds. Generally, icing the kicker like that wouldn't be that big of a deal, but Tynes missed the lengthy first attempt, meaning...

Giants-Eagles scoreless after 1st quarter

Buy Vick, sell Griffin III

Kendall: TE Martellus Bennett or Owen Daniels in Week 4? Given his proneness for bonehead-like behavior, I thought Bennett would be a disaster for the Giants. The theory was sound: yes, Eli Manning likes to utilize his tight ends, but if Jerry Jones, an owner who has seen his share of immature and imprudent conduct, thought the Texas A&M product was detrimental to his team...

Week 4 NFL Preview: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
