The Jets Blog:
Alright, here we go. We ready? This is it, the few, the proud. Mike Devito (is) out. (He) did not practice, knee. Everybody else is probable for the game. They’ll all play. All these guys are full, as well: Marcus Dixon, shoulder, Vlad Ducasse, knee, Shonn Greene, rib, Jeremy Kerley, knee, Nick Mangold, ankle, who by the way is cheering for Madison. If you wonder about the immediate release of Nick Mangold, I’m not saying (joking). Calvin Pace, groin, Brodney Pool, knee, Matt Slauson, knee, LaDainian Tomlinson, knee. Everybody is ready to roll.
Great practice today, full of energy. The ball never hit the ground, so it was really a fast tempo, that old perfect Friday. It wasn’t perfect, but it was an excellent Friday practice, so I’m excited about that. We’ll see what happens in the game, but we’re excited to go there We know it’s going to be a hostile environment, a tough place to play, but we think we’re up to the task. Anyway, I’ll open it up for ...

The Jets defense may not be playing up to the standards of the last two seasons but Rex Ryan still says he wouldn’t trade it for any other.
Rookie receiver Jeremy Kerley declared himself fully healthy for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins. Rex Ryan confirmed that Kerley has recovered from a knee injury and would slip back into his usual slot position on offense as well as his punt return role.
SportsNite from last night along with some soundbites of Rex Ryan talking about his defense.
Here were the Redskins’ sacks-by-game before this week: 4, 3, 1, 7, 2, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 2. That’s an average of three a week.
In fact, the team entered Sunday’s game tied for first in the NFC in sacks, and tied for third in the NFL. In sacks-per-pass attempt, the Redskins were atop the NFC by themselves.

LANDOVER, Md. — Rex Ryan has taken great pleasure across his first two-plus years in charge of the Jets in trying to distance himself from the ghosts that have haunted the franchise so often in the past.
For decades, the Jets were saddled with a reputation for being awful season closers...
Okay, (Mike) DeVito did not practice, knee injury. Vlad Ducasse is limited with the knee, everybody else (was) full go. (Marcus) Dixon, shoulder, Shonn Greene, ribs, (Jeremy) Kerley, knee, (Nick) Mangold, ankle, Calvin Pace, groin, Brodney Pool, knee, Matt Slauson, knee, and L.T. (LaDainian Tomlinson), knee. All right, that’s pretty much it. Today, weather...

We’ve seen a crotch kick, an arm stomp, late hits, helmet to helmet launches, and even Jets Coach Rex Ryan cursing at spectators. Flags are flying on NFL fields from coast to coast this year for questionable hits, and the old highlight reel collisions are no longer legal. Players are still getting hurt, and many are playing hurt. From Cowboy QB Tony Romo taking...
I’d like to get him around here more … I’m going to try to keep him here, but we’ll see if his wife will let him.”

Red Sox fans got used to Terry Francona's "close to the vest" way of handling his business during his time as manager in Boston. That's all likely to change, however, with the arrival of Bobby Valentine as the new Sox skipper. WEEI's Mike Mutnansky is thrilled about the prospects of having Valentine in Boston for the foreseeable future, as Mut thinks Valentine...
Tomlinson, Kerley, Greene all look healthy
You have to have a long memory to remember a time when it was a coach of the Giants, not the Jets, making headlines for their performance in a press conference.
It was Jim Fassel pushing all his chips into the middle of the table back in 2000 when he bet his own job on the team making it into the playoffs.
It worked out and the Giants won the NFC, but since then it has been Herman...
Tomlinson, Greene good to go
Jets center Nick Mangold and Redskins defensive tackle Barry Cofield, who will face off Sunday, first played against each other as teenagers in Ohio.
