The Giants survived the dreaded trap game yesterday, beating the Detroit Lions 28-20, with a collective assist from the Detroit Lions, who kind of looked like the Giants looked three weeks ago against Tennessee.  That is, the Lions were a kind of bumbling, kind of stumbling, bunch of mistake-makers who failed to take advantage of solid play by their third string QB and their Pro Bowl receiver. But hey, let’s give the G-men some credit, too.  They did a lot of things right yesterday, and we all know half of them were looking ahead to next Monday night.  Talk about a trap….I know the G-men will be fired up against a division rival that’s better than their 1-4 record, but they surely don’t want to lose to them now when they can just about end their season, do they?
