According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Browns running back Trent Richardson is expected to be ready for training camp after being sidelined this spring due to injury. The good news with Richardson is that, despite reports he would miss all of August recovering from injuries, I’m told there is every expectation that he will be taking reps when camp opens. It will be interesting to see how Richardson holds up this season. Need NFL Tickets? The post appeared first on Pro Football Zone.

There’s now less than 1,000 hours until you can get your exhibition football fix. The Browns announced their training camp schedule last week. Mingo: Browns defense could be the best in NFL

I think if everything is going well, I think this defense could be the best in the league. We have a lot of players that can contribute and help this team win. We’ve got a lot of rushers. We’ve got corners on the back end. We’ve got D-linemen that can hold those blocks and get off and make plays. We’ve got linebackers that can come up and tackle the run and get back in coverage...

Mike Lombardi unable to distinguish between correlation and causation (Cleveland Browns GM)

It would be one thing if the GM of your NFL football team slipped up once or twice in committing a logical flaw that a sharp fourth grader would be expected to avoid. But it’s only a Cleveland Browns thing when one of Mike Lombardi’s former co-workers reveals the existence of “countless notebooks” full of Lombardi’s “insistence” that correlation and causation are...

Browns editor Carucci says, “if Trent Richardson doesn’t break 1,000 yards in 2013 he’ll be labeled as a underachiever.”

Browns running back Trent Richardson only finished the 2012 season with 950 rushing yards. This has some fans concerned about the Browns first round pick from the 2012 NFL draft. It also has Browns senior editor Vic Carucci worried that Richardson will be labeled as a underachiever, if he doesn’t rush for over 1,000 yards in 2013. To be fair to Trent, you have to remember he missed...

Rookie safety Jamoris Slaughter eyeing starting position: ‘I have that winning mentality’

Rookie Jamoris Slaughter was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round (175th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. Slaughter ruptured his Achilles tendon in his third game for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2012 and his rehab is over. He’s been practicing during OTAs, but his true test is when camp opens. He will be in competition with Tashaun Gipson and Johnson...

Davone Bess Brings Veteran Leadership to Cleveland Browns Wide Receivers

For many Cleveland Browns fans the addition of Davone Bess was merely a side story.  All it took to highlight the importance of the Bess acquisition was a 2 game suspension of Josh Gordon.   Looking at a very young group of wide receivers Cleveland Browns GM Michael Lombardi obviously felt it was important to add a veteran presence at the position.  The kind of receiver that...

Lies In Sports – Are You Numb Yet?

When baseball’s most recent PED scandal broke, home runs records were being crushed, big names were being accused of cheating and players of all leagues were speaking before Congress and defending their reputation.  Time after time, we, as fans have been lied to but after so many lies, it’s sad to say that we (at least I am) are numb to all the lies and the shock value has gone...

LeCharles Bentley has some words for Browns receiver Josh Gordon

One of the sub-texts of the Miami Heat championship run has been Josh Gordon tweeting and seemingly reveling in the “Hate” on Twitter. It has been a topic of conversation on The Bull and the Fox in the afternoons on 92.3 the Fan. It has been a topic of conversation on Twitter, obviously. Now LeCharles Bentley, a former Browns player and also a lifelong Clevelander is weighing...

Barkevious Mingo Says Browns Could Be NFL’s Best Defense

Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo has yet to play a down in the NFL, but he’ s definitely brought his LSU swagger along with him to the league. The Browns signed Paul Kruger, and Desmond Bryant via free agency, then drafted Mingo No. 6 overall in April’s draft. Mingo is confident in his new surroundings, and told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that the Browns...

Clevelanders square off against Josh Gordon on Twitter

As Twitter smackdowns go, it was pretty significant. One ex-Brown taking on a present player, and handling things more than well. The present player: Wide receiver Josh Gordon, who during the NBA playoffs and especially the past few days has sounded the trumpet in favor of LeBron James and the Miami Heat. It seemed that Gordon enjoyed antagonizing Cleveland fans who are well not...
