Found November 10, 2012 on Juan Elway:
I should play QB too Juan… Trent Richardson suffered a rib injury 4 weeks ago against the Bengals and after trying to play through it against the Panthers, was ineffective and was benhed.  Since then he has handled nearly 25 carries a week and has been running wild.  Can he get even be better after the bye week? Ricardson: “The bye week is going to be big for me concerning the rib injury. It hasn’t really been where I can be at 100 percent yet, so I’m waiting for that moment. Whenever my ribs do heal, it’s going to make a big difference. When they heal 100 percent – I don’t know if it will be over this bye week – but whenever they do, it’s going to be a whole ’nother Trent.” Right now he is the 6th best RB in standard leagues and could finish near the top, especially in PPR leagues.  I love Dougie Martin, but Richardson could actually be the best rookie RB in fantasy going forward. Trent Richardson Not Practicing With Starters

While there have been whispers over the weekend relating to Trent Richardson, I cannot confirm with anyone inside the facility so I will not speculate or comment at this point. With that said, its been reported that Richardson is on the field for practice this morning, but he is not practicing with the 1st team offense. This is obviously a rare occurrence as there is no doubt that...

No more moral victories, Browns need results

What is the worst thing in the world? Believe it or not, it isn’t Pat Shurmur or the Dolans. Nor is it Pittsburgh or Ann Arbor. The worst thing in the world, without a doubt, is waiting. Sitting in traffic for an hour on Friday night with a dead cell phone, I thought to myself that this must be what hell is like. If heaven is a baseball field in Iowa, then hell must be sitting...

Brandon Weeden Has 7 Games To Prove He’s The Browns QB Of The Future

Browns new CEO Joe Banner mentioned that they plan on evaluating the team for the remainder of the season and that includes rookie QB Brandon Weeden. “It’s right to put Brandon on the list of important things we have to figure out and we have seven games left to do that,” Banner said, via the  Cleveland Plain Dealer. “It’s an extremely important question for this organization...

In defense of the great Phil Dawson

I was reading an otherwise great article today at Grantland by Bill Barnwell that pointed out how bad a job Jacksonville Jaguars GM Gene Smith is at his job, when a snippet caught my attention. While talking about Josh Scobee and his contract from the Jags, a footnote said the following about Phil Dawson. Given that kickers are incredibly inconsistent from year to year, I still...

Jerry on Holmgren's interest in Cowboys

PHILADELPHIA The best explanation for why Jerry Jones would attempt to sidestep last weekend's rumors about Sean Payton as a future Cowboys coach but then this weekend talk fairly openly about rumors about Mike Holmgren as a future Cowboys coach has nothing to do with Payton, with Holmgren, or with sitting Dallas coach Jason Garrett. It has everything to do with Jerry being...

Brandon Weeden The Browns’ QB Of The Future?

I have never been good at auditions Juan… Brandon Weeden has flashed potential this season, but there is a very good chance that the Browns will have a whole new front office and coaching staff in 2013.  Weeden needs to prove that he can lead this team in the near future and may be on audition for the rest of the season.  The present coach Pat Shurmur tries to explain what...

While We’re Waiting…The Browns vs. ‘Bama

While We’re Waiting serves as the early morning gathering of WFNY-esque information for your viewing pleasure. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email at tips@waitingfornextyear.com. “Steve “Spurrier suggested earlier this month that Alabama could beat a couple of NFL teams. Pete Carroll rightfully pointed out that idea was ridiculous, saying a game...

LaCanfora: Holmgren “interested” in Cowboys

Really really bad news for Jason Garrett you’d think, but Jason LaCanfora is reporting that Holmgren could be a fit in Dallas. Holmgren, who is finishing up a disappointing three-year run as the Browns’ team president, has said he would consider a return to coaching, where he already has a case for potential Hall of Fame induction. Some sources who know Holmgren well believe Dallas is...

Report: Mike Holmgren might be interested in coaching the Cowboys

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, if the Dallas Cowboys end up firing head coach Jason Garrett, soon-to-be former Browns president Mike Holmgren would likely be interested in becoming their next head coach. “Some sources who know Holmgren well believe Dallas is the one potential opening that would truly interest him, given the competitiveness of the roster, the skill...

Holmgren has ‘serious interest’ in coaching Cowboys

Following a failed stint as the Browns’ president, “The Walrus” appears ready to return to the coaching ranks. CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora said Sunday that Mike Holmgren has “serious interest” in becoming the next head of the Dallas Cowboys. Sources tell La Canfora that Holmgren wants the role “given the competitiveness of the roster, the skill players present...
