According to NBC 4’s Dan Hellie’s Twitter account, @dhellie, first round draft pick Trent Williams is in the negotiation stage with the team. It was Shanahan’s request to Williams to be at camp on time and ready to go prior to drafting him in April.
Since Williams has been on the team he has been to all mini-camps and has received praise from teammates and coaches. The offensive line was the obvisous weak link in the Redskins 4-12 season last year. With the addition of Jamaam Brown, OT formerly of the Saints, the Redskins made a huge upgrade and now appear to have bookend tackles. Mike Williams, however, out for the year with heart problems will be a bit of a set back.
