Triple Shot: St. Louis Rams   By Eric Judd   @ericjuddTSHQ   St. Louis Rams Major Need:  Safety   Best Shot: Kenny Vaccaro S Texas While Kenny Vaccaro might not make it to 16 for St. Louis, he would be an immediate upgrade to the Rams’ defense. Vaccaro is exactly what teams look for as a last line of defense in the secondary. Vaccaro is a strong run defender and covers a lot of ground in pass coverage. His place on a defense will allow the rest of the squad to play more free, relying on Vaccaro to have their backs. His speed and power are both NFL quality and he should immediately become a force in the NFL.   Long Shot: David Amerson CB/S? North Carolina St After getting burned early in 2012, Amerson’s true position might have been revealed as the dabbled at in high school. His homerun tendancies in coverage lend themselves better to a free Safety than as a cover corner.  Amerson has a nose for the ball and is a serious risk-taker. Given the freedom of other top-flight free safeties, Amerson could quickly create a serious impact in the league. His top-flight ball skills would normally be found on the first day of the NFL draft, but his propensity for gambling on the ball pushes him out of the cover corner conversation and into the sleeper safety discussion. St. Louis would be wise to pick him up, if available, in the 2nd round.   Shot in the Dark: Earl Wolff S North Carolina St Earl Wolff is exactly what you look for in a day 3 safety. Hard hitting, good tackler, with the ability to force turnovers. He is a obvious starter as an in the box strong safety, which is a serious area of need for the Rams. Head Coach Jeff Fisher and company would do well by adding another potent young force in the Rams’ secondary to go along with Cornerback Janoris Jenkins.
