Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Torell Troup was placed on the injured reserve list today, ending his second season with the team. Troup was the second-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, and it's a pick that is looking shaky. Troup played in six of 11 games this season. He played 16 snaps a game in the six games he appeared. Over 11 games his average was only nine snaps a game. So his loss for the final five games isn't a big deal for the Bills. But the fact he has made little impact over two seasons is a big issue for the team. Ideally, Troup would be a huge, run-stuffing asset as the No. 3 tackle behind Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams. But he's on the shelf due to back problems, not a good thing long-term for a 330-pounder.
The Bills promoted defensive end Lionel Dotson, a 6-4, 290-pounder, to the active roster. They also signed outside linebacker Robert Eddins to the practice squad.
