I recently overheard a Falcons fan say he had his team’s Monday night match-up against the Saints circled on his calendar. I chuckled to myself and thought, “Cute.”

You see, I can appreciate the rivalry, the implications and all the hype surrounding the NFC South battle that’s about to go down in the Superdome, but I sadly don’t respect the Falcons enough to spotlight anything having to do with them. I spit on them.

What has me hype is that my team has a shot to clinch the NFC South title and close in on the #2 seed. That they would do that against a team I despise in the national spotlight is just icing on the cake. I’m flattered though that the Falcons and their fans think so much of us to countdown to another beat down at the hands of our team. Sure things went down to the wire last time around, but this is a prime time game in the Superdome. This has all the makings of a Brees-bot extravaganza!

I noticed the Dirty Turds have been pretty mum on the trash talk this time around. Could they have finally gotten the memo that it’s only best to trash talk when you’ve actually accomplished something? Or maybe it’s that they don’t want to give our boys any more ammunition to take with them on the field on Monday night. I mean, c’mon. The Saints are playing for playoff positioning, Drew Brees is chasing a record, thousands of Saints fans will still be drunk off holiday spirits. It would take a Christmas miracle for the Falcons to pull off a victory and let’s face it, even Santa will be pretty drunk by the time this game rolls around.

Instead of wasting a lot of time previewing a game that we all know the outcome of, Nola Chick has put together a “Who Dat Remix” of one of her favorite holiday poems. Enjoy!

Twas the night after Christmas
when all through the dome
the Saints fans were cheering
defending their home.

Matt Ryan threw picks to
to Porter and Greer
while sacks by Will Smith
stirred up holiday cheer

Drew Brees chased a record
while Marino hung his head
As Coach Mike Smith murmured
“I’d be better off dead”

The Saints put the smack down
on those hapless Dirty Birds
and that poor Roddy White
once again ate his words

On Jimmy, On Marques, On Pierre and Drew
Now Vilma, Now Jenkins…you know what to do!
While those poor Falcons players all seemed lost in a funk,
Saints fans were yelling “Stand up and get crunk!”

With a wink of his eye and a twist of his cap,
Payton walked toward the tunnel, giving Gumbo some dap.

“We’ve won the division”,
Payton shouted with glee
now it’s on the to the Panthers
for another victory!

And with that all the Saints fans, second-lined out of sight
Merry Who Dat to all and to all a good night.

Nola Chick’s Prediction:
Saints 37
Falcons 17
