I recently overheard a Falcons fan say he had his team’s Monday night match-up against the Saints circled on his calendar. I chuckled to myself and thought, “Cute.” You see, I can appreciate the rivalry, the implications and all the hype surrounding the NFC South battle that’s about to go down in the Superdome, but I sadly don’t respect the Falcons enough to spotlight anything having to do with them. I spit on them. What has me hype is that my team has a shot to clinch the NFC South title and close in on the #2 seed. That they would do that against a team I despise in the national spotlight is just icing on the cake. I’m flattered though that the Falcons and their fans think so much of us to countdown to another beat down at the hands of our team. Sure things went down to the wire last time around, but this is a prime time game in the Superdome. This has all the makings of a Brees-bot extravaganza!
