We all are hoping Tyrann Mathieu is able to keep his head on straight because of plays like this one. Kudos to the Honey Badger for running down Jared Cook.
BEST OF MAXIM
Arizona Cardinals rookie safety Tyrann Mathieu showed that he can still make miraculous plays at the NFL level. St. Louis Rams tight end Jared Cook looked like he had a touchdown when Mathieu came from behind and forced a fumble. The ball was recovered by the Cardinals in the end zone for a touchback and saved the Cardinals a crucial six points.
Arizona Cardinals rookie and former LSU standout at safety Tyrann Mathieu (affectionately known as the “Honey Badger”) made his NFL debut on Sunday and it didn’t take him very long to record his first impressive highlight.
Mathieu stopped a long Rams touchdown with an incredible diving tackle that forced a fumble from tight end Jared Cook just a handful of yards from the endzone...
TEMPE, Ariz. Until the Cardinals can shore up their run defense, the defensive line will come under scrutiny despite its wealth of talent. The Cardinals finished 29th against the run last season (137 yards per game), and that simply wont do.
Previous defensive coordinator Ray Horton said those numbers were overrated and that points allowed and turnovers were the keys to a successful...
On 3rd down with 9 yards needed to gain a first down and 10:59 remaining in the 4th quarter, quarterback Carson Palmer drops back to pass. Robert Quinn, the second year defensive end for the Rams, shoots off the line on a speed rush looking to disrupt the tall quarterback. The left tackle, Levi Brown, shuffles his feet as he tries to get outside to put a body on Quinn. The...
The Arizona Cardinals are a vastly different team than the one who walked out of Candlestick Park following the completion of a 5-11 season, having lost 11 of their final 12 games in 2012. It was a season which began with much optimism but ended in despair. A 4-0 start had many believing the playoffs were a possibility, but a week 5 injury to starting quarterback Kevin Kolb...
TEMPE, Ariz. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians reiterated a common postgame theme at his Monday press conference at the teams practice facility.
You never accept losing, but there are some very, very good things and some very correctable things, he said of Sundays 27-24 loss to the Rams in St. Louis. Disappointed? Yes. Discouraged? Not at all.
We wanted that win desperately. Its a big...
We told you before the Cardinals season began that progress might not be visible in the winloss columns. Sundays 27-24 loss in St. Louis was a perfect example.
There were multiple signs that a new era had begun at the Edward Jones Dome.Carson Palmer threw for 327 yards and two touchdowns and posted a 96.6 passer rating, reminding us what strong quarterback play looks like after three...
Defensive end Calais Campbell will start for the Arizona Cardinals in the opener at St. Louis after being listed as questionable with a quadriceps injury and missing practice Friday.
Wide receiver Andre Roberts also will start Sunday in place of injured tight end Rob Housler, ruled out with an ankle injury. Roberts was limited Friday with a quadriceps injury.
Campbell was hurt...
The Cardinals’ Michael Floyd made this great play in the second quarter of Arizona’s season opener against the Rams on Sunday. The one-handed grab came as Floyd was being yanked and held by Rams DB Cortland Finnegan and landed the Cardinals with a big 44-yard gain.
[The Big Lead]
The post Michael Floyd’s one-handed catch might be the play of the weekend appeared first on The Nosebleeds.
It was a new season with the same old problem for the Arizona Cardinals: a quarterback under siege.
Carson Palmer was solid in his debut for the Cardinals on Sunday, but he was sacked four times and pressured often in a 27-24 loss to the St. Louis Rams.
The biggest culprit was left tackle Levi Brown, who surrendered three sacks to Rams defensive end Robert Quinn, including one...
Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald torched the Rams for 80 yards and two scores Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome.Fantasy Spin:Finally a quarterback that knows how to get Fitz the football. This Carson Palmer/Fitzgerald pairing could be huge for fantasy owners this season.
Larry Fitzgerald finally has some semblance of a quarterback in Arizona.
Carson Palmer might not be the player he once was, but he’s two times better than what Fitzgerald has had throwing him passes since Kurt Warner retired.
Fitzgerald and Palmer hooked up early with this beautiful fade route over a really good corner in Janoris Jenkins.
We’re glad to see Fitz back.
