Phil Richards points out that the Titans game got off to a bad start and never got better: Joe Lefeged took the opening kickoff 5 yards deep in the Indianapolis Colts end zone. He made a bad decision: He brought it out, the blocking broke down, Lefeged was hit by Tennessee's Tommie Harris and fumbled. Adrian Moten recovered for the Colts, but teammate Dan Muir was penalized for holding. It was the Colts' football at their 8-yard line. Four seconds into a 27-10 loss, they were in a hole they never would climb out of, a hole that is 0-8 deep. Tennessee blocked a punt in the end zone for one touchdown and converted a pair of interceptions into two more.

Preparing for the Colts Future: Wide Receiver Conundrum

There is no position on the 2011 Indianapolis Colts that will undergo or require more immediate front office attention by way of future contract considerations than wide receiver. Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Anthony Gonzalez are all at the end of their contracts. Two of the three were first round draft picks. One of the [...]

Did These Colts Fans’ Andrew Luck Jerseys Jinx Indy’s “Suck for Luck” Bid?

Yes, the Indianapolis Colts are right in the thick of things in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes after getting beat 27-10 on Sunday by the Tennessee Titans.  And yes, Jim Caldwell’s team has been putrid as of late, sitting at 0-8 and having been outscored 89-17 in their last two games. But isn’t it a little premature to shell out $100 or so on Andrew Luck Colts jerseys?...

Colts Have Given Up On Former 1st Rd-Pick DE Jerry Hughes?

Lost in part because of all the silliness surrounding Jeff Saturday's 'outcoached' comments last week, Adam Schefter went on the ESPN Football Today podcast last Thursday and said that the Colts actively shopped 2010 first round pick Jerry Hughes prior to the NFL's trading deadline. They got no takers. He was a healthy scratch in six games last year, a telling stat...

Enemy Intelligence: The previous week's Indianapolis Colts Game

I planned to do what I normally do and watch the opponent's previous game. Unforutnately, the Colts lost last week to the Saints, 62-7. I started watching that game for this post, then decided it ultimately wouldn't be a very good game to write a review of the Colts off of. I instead watched the Colts' previous game, a road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Colts in...

Colts keeping Manning active so he can practice

The Indianapolis Colts will keep Peyton Manning on the active roster so he can practice later this season, though it remains unlikely Manning will play in a regular-season game.

Manning active in case he can practice

During his weekly radio appearance Bill Polian told listeners that Manning was still on the active roster in case he could practice.  He also noted that the team came close to putting Manning on the IR due to roster constraints and that it's unlikely Manning will play this year.Wow.

Target Practice, Week 8: An abundance of Colts

Curtis Painter and the Colts followed their historically bad Week 7 performance with a not-quite-as-bad-but-still-very-bad Week 8, losing to the Titans by 17 points. With the game flow being what it was — Indy trailed 20-0 at half — Painter finished his day with 49 pass attempts. Thus we find several Colts near the top of the target leader-board, although none were particularly...
