Osi Umenyiora is already making an impact on the Atlanta Falcons. Umenyiora is taking over a leadership role, he’s showing the Falcons’ young defensive ends what it means to be a great player in the NFL.
Umenyiora sees the leader role as a part of his job.
“It’s my job to help them,” he said. “I don’t have too much longer. It’s unlikely I’ll play another 10 years. All I can do is give them all the knowledge that I have now and try to make them better. They’re my younger brothers.”
Umenyiora commented on what he saw from the young guys:
“They’re maturing. They’re maturing very, very fast. Malliciah (Goodman) is a good player. (Jonathan) Massaquoi is very good also. These are going to be tremendous football players in this league.”
