NEW ORLEANS - NOVEMBER 30: Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots warms ups against the New Orleans Saints at Louisana Superdome on November 30, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Scott Halleran/Getty Images)
Three games, three losses by 4 points, and a whole lot of mistakes at crucial times. This doesn't sound like New England Patriots football, but it's been the case so far this season.

The introduction of the running game was supposed to help ground out tough yards to secure victories, but you have to use it to get it’s benefits.

Well within field goal range near the end of the first half, Tom Brady had the chance to ice the game, but instead he defrosted it. An intentional grounding call and an ill advised forced throw in the end zone ended up costing the Patriots more than just field position, it took points off the board.

The return of Aaron Hernandez did little to energize the New England offense, and the running game took a jolt when rookie Brandon Bolden left with a knee injury. To add insult to injury, Brandon Lloyd looked to be shaken up after laying out for a ball along the sideline that was incomplete.

Josh McDaniels and company came out spreading the field, intent on getting the passing game cranking. Once settled in the Patriots began using the run. However, they could never strike a good balance and the speed of Seattle's defense kept the Patriots cautious in calling too many run plays. "You lose by one point and here are a lot of things we could have done better to not be in that situation," Brady said after the game.

The big corners for Seattle gave Brady some problems throwing into the middle of the field, and ultimately, an interception in the end zone by Earl Thomas.

A Stephen Gostkowski FG miss vs. Arizona, unable to get a crucial first down vs. Baltimore, and now two shots at field goals that would have won the game.

It's hard to figure what side of the tracks the Patriots are on these days.
