Taking over for Steven Jackson (groin), Daryl Richardson rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries and added two catches for 19 yards in Week 2 against the Redskins. Richardson was thrust into the feature role, and flashed impressive speed. In the third quarter, he broke off a 53-yard run and very nearly scored on the play. He came close to scoring again later in the third on an 18-yard pass from Sam Bradford. Meanwhile, Isaiah Pead did not receive a single offensive touch for the second week in a row. It’s clear that Richardson is the Steven Jackson handcuff to own.

Remember this name, because next week if Jackson cannot go, Richardson will be the work horse.  I think you will be surprised with the small school back.  He is a very smooth back with all the right moves.  He has already surpassed Isaiah Pead on the depth chart.

St. Louis Rams: Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#11)

Last week: 11 (+1) Record: 1-1 Every year, there is one team that goes from 5 wins or fewer to the playoffs. I have a feeling that it’s going to be an NFC team this year, either the Rams, Redskins, or Buccaneers. I’m sticking with my preseason prediction here and putting the Rams in. They’ve looked just as I’ve expected through the first 2 games, almost beating Detroit in...

Roger Saffold likely out a month with an MCL injury

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, offensive lineman Roger Saffold injured his MCL in his left knee during Sunday’s win over the Redskins.  The good news is that surgery won’t be needed.  He’ll likely be out for a month. Coach Jeff Fisher says Rodger Saffold has MCL injury in left knee. Non-surgical, but such injuries usually sideline player for about...

Daryl Richardson, The biggest-Little story nobody is talking about from the St. ...

The biggest story nobody is talking about from the St. Louis Rams' 31-28 victory over the Washington Redskins last Sunday was the running back situation. Yes Sam Bradford showed why he was drafted #1 overall, Danny Amendola set a career high in receiving yards, the Rams came back from..blah…blah…blah. And definitely not the Steven Jackson benching/growing...

Short memory keeps Rams' Amendola focused

ST. LOUIS The memory remains. But it has been cut and creased and crumpled and buried deep in Danny Amendola's mind, because this is a new week and life goes on. He dresses near his locker Wednesday at Rams Park, to the right of a flatscreen television that replayed his Week 2 performance as he scrambled for a mid-afternoon meeting two days earlier. Amendola caught 15 passes...

St. Louis Rams: How to Shut Down RGIII in One Easy Gameplan

The Redskins arrived at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis fresh off a convincing win in a dome down the Mississippi River in New Orleans.Robert Griffin III kicked off his career with an exclamation point, running an offense that blended elements of Mike and Kyle Shanahan’s West Coast offense with concepts of the spread offense Griffin ran at Baylor. While package plays are nothing...

The Skins loss IS on Josh Morgan

Josh Morgan commits 15 yard personal foul penalty by throwing the ball at Cortland Finnegan Yesterday in the Redskins loss to the Rams, Josh Morgan made one of the worst boneheaded plays I have ever seen. Down 3 with 1:19 to play, the Redskins offense managed to get themselves in field goal range on a third down pass to Josh Morgan (we will excuse the fact that he should have...

Finnegan Makes Morgan Lose His Cool, Rams Take The Win - With the Washington Redskins trailing 31-28 against the St. Louis Rams with a 1:27 left on the clock. QB Robert Griffin III hit WR Josh Morgan for a seven yard pass that Morgan turned into what I’m sure will be a candidate for bonehead move of the year. The catch wasn’t enough for a first down, but Morgan’s catch would...

St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears NFL Week 3 Preview

Steven Jackson was excused from their recent victory over the Redskins due a “sore groin” although it certainly looked as if he was benched due to getting flagged for spiking the ball after what appeared to be a touchdown. They did not rule it a touchdown and the Rams were fortunate to get a call in their favor after Cortland Finnegan baited Josh Morgan into throwing the ball...

Little lambs rise and shine in St. Louis Rams victory

In a battle of Heisman-trophy winning quarterbacks, the home team prevailed Sunday as the St. Louis Rams escaped with a 31-28 win over the visiting Washington Redskins. When it came to clutch plays, Washington rookie phenom Robert Griffin III showed poise and grit, even jawing with opposing defenders. However, Sam Bradford also had much to prove from his Oklahoma days, and the...
