Every NFL Franchise has it’s own pantheon of football gods. That group of players who are not only historic in terms of talent, but even more than that, these are the players who you have to talk about when you tell the story of your team. This is part of a 32 article series where I tell you who I would put among that elite group. For this, it’s Mt. Rushmore. 4 players only. The 4 heads you would carve on a mountain that would live forever as the greatest in franchise history.

Now, I don’t profess to know the history of every franchise in the league. So, I did my research. And part of that was reaching out to you fans. But if you don’t agree with the 4 guys I have selected, come find me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/nfldraftboard and let me hear what you think.

San Diego Chargers-For me, when I think about the Chargers, I think about potent offenses whether it's Dan Fouts or Ladainian Tomlinson moving the football has always been a tradition in San Diego and it's fitting that is the theme of this tribute.

1. Junior Seau, LB-What has happened to Seau recently has been a tragedy but for this discussion we talk about the type of player he was and make no mistake when you are thinking about best inside linebackers of all time, Seau might be the most underrated of them all, but for 20 seasons he was as good as it got in the NFL.

2. Ladainian Tomlinson, RB-A true revolutionary in the NFL, the supreme dual threat running back, and the statistical juggernaut of Charger history. Not to mention he runs 1 and 1a with Seau as the most beloved player in franchise history.

3. Dan Fouts, QB-Before the league was catered toward the passing game, Fouts was acting like it was. He topped 4,000 yards passing 3 years in a row when mauling the wide outs was not frowned on like it is today and the quarterback was not the coveted commodity, so he took his hits. The fact he’s far and away the greatest QB in franchise history makes him an automatic for this list.

4. Lance Alworth, WR-I was torn here between Bambi and Kellen Winslow, and quite frankly while I didn’t see a ton of difference in terms of their play, if I am putting a players face on a mountain forever the fact that Winslow has been a little too outspoken on race for my taste, and wouldn’t be the guy I’d want representing my team.
