Fox Sports NFL analyst Jay Glazer is reporting once again on Twitter this afternoon as the NFL trade deadline winds down that the Detroit Lions are trying to work a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for RB Ronnie Brown. Glazer is reporting that the trade deal for the former Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown would be a trade of RB Jerome Harrison and a seventh-round pick in exchange for Brown.
The Eagles signed Brown as a free agent this offseason but he has not been much of a contributor to the Eagles offense this season rushing for only 38 yards on 13 carries.
This trade is important to the Lions because RB Jahvid Best has now suffered yet another concussion and Detroit needs some insurance in case Best is going to be lost for some extended period of time. Harrison was signed after the Lions were informed that they would be without the services of second-round pick Mikel Leshoure for the season.
